Some people put their hair in braids or twists and then pin it up. Some use blowdryers and some use the technique showcased here. Also shrinking can't be prevented. It's what our hair will do no matter what. However, you can minimize it doing some of the above.

eveh can you leave thread in hair and wash or will the thread break your off as it dries. How long can you leave the thread in your hair I want to thread my hair for months I do not want to take out for a long time.

I personally don’t recommend washing in the thread. I typically wear it for 24hrs but you can wear it as long as 4 weeks

The idea is to stretch. You can do it with moisturizer or water added to the hair or you can do it dry. I prefer the results when done dry as it is straighter
