Well, at $4300 I can understand why you didn't include the price in your video. This price seems way too expensive for what you get with the trike. I'm not against a company making a fair profit, but damn.

All their bikes are expensive, just look at their folding bike, 350W and $3200. Just because it comes with a belt drive instead of a chain.

Taking into account all the processes and costs behind this product and for the company.. Yeah that's still hella steep! I get it's a niche market, But at that price tag their margins are going to be even more niche :P

At 1:50 you can really see the wobble! I've assembled dozens of ebikes and trikes out of the box, and close to a third have a wheel or two out of true (especially on lower-end models). This one's pretty bad, either that or it's not bolted on well. That's dangerous

Conventional spoke wheels are not really good when it comes to axial load, that's right. That's why they use small 24 inch wheels with 36 spokes, but it seems it's still a problem.

Not hydraulic brakes, Wheels wobble?
@nemo5335 Жыл бұрын
This is rwd, which is good. Front wheel drive is inherently flawed and should not be used for three wheelers. Now, they need to add a suspension and that would eliminate the instability issues that "plague" trikes. The reality is that three wheelers are only unstable if you build them the same as two wheelers. Since you can't balance with your body, you need two wheel drive and a full suspension to keep balance and stability while moving.

Is that legal? Obviously it depends on jurisdictions but most places allow only 500-750 watts (although my State allows 1kw so it's not unheard of), and I think two motors would count as the combined wattage.

@panzerwolf4942 жыл бұрын
*watches that rear tire wobble "Yikes, I expect better from something so expensive" I've built electric trikes and have never had that wheel wobble issue and mine only cost around a grand to do it Two wheel drive. Is that solid axle, or is there a differential of some sort? Because it it's solid axle, you're gonna burn through tires. One wheel when turning is either going to rotate more on the outside or less on the inside. So either the outside tire is going to drag, or the inside is going to spin. Honestly the only thing I see that stands out on this as being worth some money is the dual disc brakes.

What other trike's are comparable in power and quality to the Evelo? I'm really interested in the Evelo because it appears to be the only trike on the market with a differential that drives both rear wheels. Does anyone else offer this feature?

Yes. it is from Malisa mobility company. It even has front wheel suspension.
@mrjimbobarinojabar94052 жыл бұрын
@@agapitocastillo1095 You are correct that Malisa Mobility makes a trike with front suspension. However, it does not have a differential. It is also not a mid-drive. The Motor drives the front wheel only. So, it is not comparable to the Evelo.

@@mrjimbobarinojabar9405 Did you find another trike like Evelo?
@mrjimbobarinojabar94052 жыл бұрын
@@holdingspace3718 Nope, I did not and we bought the Evelo. We're seniors and primarily bought it for my wife who has balance issues but I get a kick out of riding it as well. Its a small frame trike so if you have a 32" inseam or longer, a longer seat post is needed. I'm currently waiting on delivery of a long travel Thudbuster which I hope will work for both of us. We only have about a hundred miles on it and none of it on gravel so far, so don't have an opinion on if it's worth the high cost. So far, it is clearly of much higher quality than my Bee Cool Adventurer fat tire Ebike which weighs the same but costs quite a bit less.

This is yet another example of a manufacturer trying to justify an unreasonable selling price. The cycling world has become a magnet for ripoff suppliers and manufacturers. When manufactured in quantity the retail price of almost any bicycle or tricycle should be $500 to $1,000 unless it's made out of exotic materials. Let's face it, we can buy cars for less.
