E-Bike Question of the Day ⚡ How important is an electric bike's torque rating to you? Let us know in the comments below 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

Hi EBR! I've been watching all your recent videos in anticipation of getting an E-bike soon. My one complaint is that you typically don't include a maximum rider weight in your reviews. As I was 320lbs in November 2019, this is at the front in my mind. I am down to 260lbs at this point, and on target to hit 250lbs by the time I'm likely to receive delivery on my bike. If you could add that information into the info panel I'd appreciate it!

Just to say I've had the Delta-X for a year and a half and found it to be a perfect fit for the riding I do. Near my house I am fortunate to have numerous bike trails and since my retirement the bike has given me a real excuse to get out and exercise. The balance of power and handling makes it alot of fun. Though I seldom use more than the 1 or 2 level ,of assist, when I have to deal with traffic the power is there. Gotten a lot of complements and disappointed a number of riders with cheaper (and slower) bikes.

Glad to hear you're enjoying your Detla X, Gene. It's definitely great for hybrid/path riding.

Torque means everything in an electric motor. I'm concerned that 120NM of torque will wreck that Nuvinci drive.

Is there another bike just like this one without gears?

I would like to see a test for riding the bike under no assist. Also I would like to see a distance test using an assist level of 2.

Thanks for the feedback, Joe. We've refined our tests since we did this review and we now do a circuit test that includes no PAS. It's a 1 mile loop that we clock our average speed on. We hope to update this review soon with the graphs showing this data, but just to help you out here's a peak at the results: No PAS - 15.1 mph PAS 1 - 16.8 mph PAS 2 - 20.6 mph PAS 3 - 24 mph PAS 4 - 25.3 mph PAS 5 - 26 mph It's one of the fastest bikes we've had on our circuit test - the bike moves well at any assist (including no assist). As for the range test on level 2 I'm not sure we'll ever be able to do that unfortunately. Range tests take a long time in addition to the other testing we put the bikes through and so we hope that by doing a max and min PAS range test it at least gives you an idea of where a bike's battery might last in between depending on your assist level.

Still trying to figure out where they come up with these obscene torque figures. These things can barely make it up a steep hill, but yet on paper they have more torque than a Honda Civic.
@cj97413 жыл бұрын
With a 2 foot long wrench, you could easily tighten a bolt to 100 foot pounds of torque. But no one person can push a Civic at 70 mph. A 750 watt motor is about 1 horsepower. Torque is force, horsepower is work.

Nice bike

So they combined a 750W/120Nm motor with a 85Nm Nuvinci N380 that has a max of 90Nm. Thats 33% over the max of the Nuvinci.

Evelo will still cover the warranty on the drive according to their forum
@joeevans68843 жыл бұрын
On Enviolo website they do not list the Evelo CVT under their warranty. I would like to know that Evelo would handle the warranty (for how long?) and Enviolo would back it up and who is going to pay to have the gearbox removed and sent back to factory?

Did you mention the price?
@ElectricBikeReport3 жыл бұрын
We did not mention the price in the video. For all of our reviews we include a link in the description you can look at for current pricing since they do change over time. Hope that helps!

Sorry but you didn’t seem to know what you were talking about...not interested in the bike now. Sorry
