I was born in 1973. White father/ Black mother. My father introduced me to his style of music and my mother introduced me to hers. This was 1982 and Thriller blew this out of the water. I was too young to appreciate it. My mother used to play this alllllll the time on our "hi-fi stereo" with Patrice Rushen, Earth Wind & Fire, Cameo etc. This brings back so many memories of my mother asking me to dance with her. I now keep EVERY SINGLE SONG I come across now. Even if I hate them. I have been collecting since the 80's and digitizing all the music. I have over 150,000 MP3s now.

Obviously, you don’t know any people who are really into music. I am 50 years old and white, and I work in a plant that is predominantly black. And I know more about soul music than most of them put together. As well as having a deep knowledge of rock, disco, and big band with some country also. And the reason why is because I love music, period.
