Didn't matter, MTV wasn't going to play Evelyn's music, not a black Funk artist. Michael Jackson's record label had to extort MTV, to play more black artists. Same here same age 53. If you can't feel this, one must travel back in time, when things were thing affordable, and before there was were homeless families on the street, a time before we as a people as a nation lost our innocence. You have to have lived in this ERA to truly enjoy. Because if you were we witness the beginning of this technical era. Because back then I didn't listen to music felt it!

Rodney Mohammed: Life during these years was NOT with loads of darkness; I remember because I WAS. . .there!! A teenager having LOADS of fun with my friends BUT. . .the dysfunctional environment that was my household, was NO JOKE!! My mother died last year, NEVER knowing/admitting that her 2nd husband was a RAPIST.

I saw her perform at the Hatchsell in Boston around early 2000. She must've been at least in her 40's & was doing high kicks & twirling around in 4 -inch heels! She invited several ppl on stage for a dance off & smoked them all & they were half her age. She ain't playin' around! Springfield, Massachusetts finest! ❤️

She was clearly a good dancer too. She's moving very nicely in this video, like a natural.

I don't know what this shit is that makes mainstream today, but music like this has great and soul. They have lyrics that take your mind on a journey through love and life. This is the music I also grew up with and it reminds me of what music is. This is over of my favorite songs by Evelyn King
