I got the ai40 2 years ago and they are amazing. At higher volume the bass dies off, but I usually listen to mid/low volume anyways. I'm looking into getting ai61 and a sub, but don't need to.

I agree! The Ai40's were great for their size!

I find most speakers these days the more you turn it up the more the bass drops

Hey, congrats on rhe purchase! Yeah the bass goes nice and deep, but for that sub bass, as with any bookshelf speaker you’ll need a sub.

Awesome review! You need more subs! Your production value is really good. What do you think about these compared to the Ai41s are they ‘as good’?

Thank you!!! I haven’t heard the Ai41’s but I did hear the Ai40’s previously and they were pretty great. If Iwas to pick, I’d go bigger for the larger soundstage and bass! If you’re at all curious, here is a link to my review of the Ai40’s www.google.ca/amp/s/hometheaterhifi.com/reviews/speaker/bookshelf/fluance-ai40-powered-bookshelf-speakers-review/amp/

Thank you for the review.. I currently looking for a speaker around 500$ which should have 1. Great sound quality (linear, fast, defined, not muddy) 2. Inputs (bluetooth, optical or HDMI arc, chinch) 3. EQ like reducing bass (close to wall) I cant decide between: 1. Magnat Reference a3 (look horrible) 2. Nubert a 125 (maybe too small?) 3. Kanto yu6 (not vbest sound?) 4. Triangle Elara (not so much punch) crisp) 5. Argon Fenris (no EQ) 6. Q Acosutics (too deep in size) 7. Everthing else like KEF lsx (no chinch), Monitor Audio a5+ (no optical or hdmi) and other brands or higher end models from mentioned get too expansive. The order of the speakers are not in the order of what I would prefere..

Hey sorry for not responding earlier, I somehow missed this comment! That’s quite the list, Monitor Audio is pretty great as a do it all speaker.

But the Fluance is a really good budget option that fills most of your criteria.

Thanks for this info. I'm torn between these speakers and the Audioengine A5+ wireless to pair with my audio-technica AT-LP120XBT-USB for general listening in my living room (good size room with high ceilings). Any thoughts/suggestions?
@0102studio2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I think the deciding factor will be driver size. I belive the A5 has 5” drivers. And filling a room bigger than a 10x10 office would be a stretch if you want room filling sound. (Though a subwoofer would help with that). Also I think the price difference between the A5 and Ai61 isn’t much. My bias would be Ai61, as I prefer larger drivers in general. But the A5 does look really nice!
@stephendrahos90002 жыл бұрын
@@0102studio Many thanks for your opinion (and quick reply). I tend to agree with you (drivers, etc.). Even though the A5 has 5" drivers, everyone loves their build quality and ability to "fill a room". AudioEngine has a standard 30 day return policy. One drawback for the A5 is the lack of tone control. Perhaps a test run is in order to decide. Again, thanks!

Will the Ai61 Speakers be able to handle the BIC F12 sub-Woofer? Thank you!!
@0102studio2 жыл бұрын
You can hook up just about any subwoofer to the Ai61’s, that sub looks like a monster!
@ronaldweed61032 жыл бұрын
@0102 Studio thank you. It's actually supposed to be 301.00 dollars but very good but maybe you're right. I think I'll go with the Fluance 10 instead 🤔 thinking out loud.

Most self-qualified youtube audio reviewers have panned these. I find it hard to believe that these sound so poor that they do not receive recommendations. The price point on these is excellent and you don't need to purchase an amplifier. Would love to hear these in person as most powered monitors at this price have some flaw (no sub out, poor build quality, etc.).
