3:15 IIRC Bang is in CH state. 10:29 Kobe is a netplay fiend. I think he has 20k+ matches or even double that, but he's a constant presence in onlilne events, be it tourneys or exhibitions. 15:55 I think it was the mental fatigue of playing three matches in losers semis and finals, and having to potentially reset to win GF. 17:12 Jona has beaten Monarch twice, Bananaken has beaten Monarch once.

Definitely one of the best fighting games in history. From storyline to universe and play mechanics. Never gets boring. Always some new loop hole found.

The teching system is really good in this game, one of the few anime games where it's not oki hell and nasty resets all the time

Being there live, you could just feel how Kobes locked in extremely hard after that RC, but then at the last moment running out of steam. It was such a tradgedy.

System-wise, this is the best game. I still love the characters wackiness. But I wonder if that’s the reason people don’t like this game compared to GG which IMO is only just as good if not lesser of the two.

I think the iniation design was - defensive option. And it probably failed. Remember MK wierd meter for rolls? I think devs just gave up this option.

DBFZ did something similar, but they went a bit too far with the variable wakeups. BB aside, the most varied wakeup system where we still have some real oki is probably Tekken. SF6 backroll is occasionally relevant as well, depending on the character. UNI's is also similar to BlazBlue iirc.

It warms my heart to see people actually blocking and alternating wake-up options in fighting games (besides wake-up DP/mash/throw). It should not be such an uncommon thing, specially in high-level play.

I also don't get Monarch's character choices. Lambda into the Bang. I guess... if I'm a Lambda main and I only know how to play her what choices do I have? But Monarch has others.

BBs defensive get up options always feel so much better then most other fighting games. several times now when my friends playing susano and has C mash unlocked, i refuse to tech if he keeps mashing it, it prevents damage from scaling high because how the games same attack scaling works, and it doesnt let him get into chip setups well also time scaming and i force him into using a different option that is almost always in my benefit. not many other fightning games give that kind of defensive mixups.
