I have always been amazed about how much time women take off for maternity leave. Teacher friend of mine has had off nearly a year and so has her husband had time off for maternity leave. When i was a nurse we had a woman who had two children in a short space of time with having illness with one pregnancy. We did not see her back on the ward for two years. And dont forget whilst they are away they have to be replaced with agency workers so it costs a fortune. I went back to work after 6 weeks with all my children having put in place childcare. Why should anyone pay for me to have children.
