I don't understand Farage's question. Putting aside the Iranian remarks - if he thinks good relations with a Trump Presidency are desirable, why remind the world at PMQ's, of comments made during the campaign? Does he suppose such a reminder makes 'mending fences' easier? Isn't Farage supposed to be a patriot? Then how can he use his platform as an MP to say, in effect: 'Hey Donald, have you heard what they said about you? Are you going to stand for that?' It seems implied that either Farage is more a friend of Trump than he is a patriot to the UK, or as a patriot, he does not believe that good relations with a Trump presidency are in the British interest.

@@anglonrx2754 No. Trump's character and conduct are the primary issue. A serious issue belied by how funny everyone seems to think it is, that the next leader of the free world - doesn't believe in the free world. Doesn't respect democracy or the rule of law, doesn't support NATO or know what tariffs are. Someone who lies as easily as he breathes, someone who was a long term close friend to a kiddie sniffing blackmailer; and now has a strangle hold on all branches of the US government. Someone who wants to deport millions of people in a bloody purge; and weed out his political enemies to install loyalists at every level of government. And now Trump's friend; fake patriot Nigel Farage, is traducing the Prime Minister on his behalf. So no - I wouldn't care to congratulate Donald Trump. The US chose badly, and so did Clacton.

Actually, the stupidity of the change is using elegibility for Pension Credit to determine whether you get the WFA. Pension Credit is for those not receiving the new Basic State Pension to take them up to that level and its also a gateway to other benefits, Council Tax benefit for example which can be +10% of the new BSP. Those who do actually already get the BSP are not eligible for WFA now nor can they pass the gateway to those other benefits. The Treasury's choice of elegibility criterion was simply illogical as it leaves those already on the new BSP worse off than those who receive a smaller old State Pension.

Now my post grad needs 60+ people so that other courses can still break even. My course is recommended to run with 12 lecturers on it. It's being run with 7 because there is no extra funding being given. I support Starmer's choice, no one wants to pay more, but Uni's literally don't have the funds to run well without making cuts to needed lecturers or increase student uptake - which has its own problems.

I'd also like to point out that this clown is trying to defend private again and unsurprisingly being disingenuous by not specifically stating he's talking about Private Schools. Also Private Schools closing is actually a good thing because private schools are basically a vampiric entity that's sucking up the Education Budget and leaving next to nothing for the State Schools.

It's bit bizarre the Tories lamenting the closure of private schools, when their austerity stagnating the economy, meant so many private schools closed down. That they had to invent a new category of school to bring so many into the state sector as there would have bene a collapse in the education system. As someone from the north west, I've seen probably a dozen locally closed after 2010, I don't know of one which has closed because of VAT.
