I don't particularly mind Bowie's "Hours" - Thursdays Child and Seven are good tracks - but I have to agree with its pick. Love me some Bowie, but his weakest stuff is simply when he's boring.

The Beatles’ Story Capitol rushed this out at the end of ‘64 to compete with Vee Jay’s disc of extraneous snippets. Double album of useless dross actually went Gold.

Good choices. Most of those I had the good sense to stay away from. That Genesis album…they lost me with the first single. I have Love You and played it once and thought it sounded ok. But I’m sure I was multitasking at the time.

Yeah, "I Can't Dance" is one of the worst songs they ever did.

I'm a massive Bowie fan but can't really argue with you here. Never Let Me Down at least had a solid song with Time Will Crawl and the decent but overproduced Day In, Day Out. Hours is not totally without merit but seemed dull and safe after the blazing experimentalism of the previous two albums Outside and Earthing.

I can't really argue with any of those. I do love the song "The Night Was So Young" from The Beach Boys Love You. (To my ears, it's a song that harkens back to their classic period.) I also think the song "Mona" is decent. But yeah, other than that, I can live without that album.

“I Can’t Dance” is in the running for one of my least favorite songs of all-time! I was 14 when that was released and I couldn’t switch the station quick enough when that came on.. and it was on the radio constantly!!! 🤣🤢

Dont mind Bowie's Hours, about 4 or 5 great tracks on it imo. Is that CCR album worth having for Fogerty's tracks? Tried to think of a few examples of my own of terrible albums by bands i love: 1. Pink Floyd: Set The Controls... or Atom Heart Mother. Few good tracks, but for completists only imo. 2. Blur: The Magic Whip. One of the most boring albums i've ever heard, lol. 3. U2 - October. Love 80s, 90s and 00s U2. But to me Oct has always sounded rushed and unfinished. I believe Bono had lost his lyric book so that didn't help. 4. Sting: the lute album, or the album with Shaggy. I must admit i havent heard these albums, because i dont want to. 5. Wilco: Ode To Joy. I love, love Wilco, but first half of this album is boring, again imo. Stuart

Yeah, I'd say all CCR albums are worth having. But the Fogerty tunes on Mardi Gras also show up on a lot of the comps, like Chronicle. I'm actually a fan of October, but you are right that it was rushed and Bono lost his original lyrics. Your instincts are correct, you can skip Sting's lute album.

I really disagree about David Bowie's Hours. I thought it was ok. Before people start mocking me...hey, it's IMO right? I actually thought when you mentioned Bowie you was going to say Tonight or his Tin Machine days. I have this album on vinyl and the 1st side all of the tracks are good, its side 2 that goes a bit bland.

@amitytracks Yeah, it's good to discuss, agree & sometimes disagree! I didn't actually buy Hours on vinyl until about 6 months ago because of all of negativity about it.When I actually listened to some of the tracks individually, I actually liked most of the songs, so maybe too protective of the album! Survive is an Ace track. On a different subject, mate, have you done an article on PJ Harvey's albums ranked?

The Beach Boys have put out way more terrible albums than Love You. Love You is quirky but charming, and deeply personally Brian Wilson. 15 Big Ones is bad, and MIU Album. Keepin' The Summer Alive is bland as hell. Still Cruisin' is terrible, and Summer In Paradise absolute hell. Stars and Stripes Vol. 1 is not even to be mentioned.

The Allman Brothers band brothers of the road is a sad last gasp album from.such a legendary band who were at their worst also want to add the disappointment that was Gregg Allman band im no angel what an awful album for a southern rock legend to put out a weak 38 special rip off was downright terrible also speaking of legendary bands ending on a whimper elp in the hot seat the greatest prog trio of all time and their final album produced by the legendary Keith Olsen is a sad whimper of a once great band and another awful Keith Olsen production is bad company fame and fortune from 1986 total garbage
