Bloodborne is a masterpiece. Elden ring is assassin's Creed with actual quality, but still assassin's Creed. I'd say Elden ring is the 2nd worst from soft game after dark souls 2 and it disappointed me almost as much. It's not an 8/10 like dark souls 2 but.. its not a game for the souls fans, it's a game made for everyone else to become a souls fan. Kinda a dick move.

The whole Elden Ring article about females in Soulsborne games is such a mess. It's clearly written by someone without experience in any of the other games of the series, or at least owning a very superficial one. Yes, From's game are full of supportive, passive women that exist to be helped and help you. There are also quite a fair share of hard female bosses that cause the ire of the public but like... Did a lot of people also complain about Lady Maria? That battle was tough. Freya from the Dark Souls 3 DLC? And now Malenia. All of these character have something in common outside of being women. Their stories are built from the getgo to clearly tell the player that they are built different. All of them, in their unique way, are indeed people broken or ruined by the world around them, but they have something that the player character doesn't: they *survived* that world where the player just got tossed into it and is now exploring it probably for the first time. It's diegetic to the narrative. Malenia is a skilled warrior that made the scarlet rot hers, something that players struggle with throughout the entirety of Elden Ring. Freya appears as a supportive NPC at first and only later when she finds out that you're looking for the fire in a world that avoids it, decides to put you down by snuffing out your flame. Lady Maria made herself a name for being a pure swordswoman and a great hunter that pulled herself up without tapping into the power of the blood, and when you find her stained with it, she is ready to kill you to keep that secret from escaping. In a world where curiosity and knowledge kills people, she is the epitome of that lesson: only a honest death cures people of it.

Elden ring? Yeah. Dark souls 1 and Bloodborne? Those are timeless masterpieces. A little fact is that most of the elden ring fanboys are NEW "fans". The same fans that love assassin's Creed. The same people that have the attention span of a child and don't remember games after a single year. If you ask an actual souls fans if they would prefer elden ring 2 or a new dark souls, Bloodborne 2, demons souls 2 or even sekiro 2 (one of the weakest game fromsoft made), they would 100% say the latter. Oh and if you ask if they would rather get elden ring 2 or a new game entirely that's bit open world or elden ring 2 not being open world, it's the latter again. Im a massive souls fan and elden ring was disappointing. It's a 9/10. The problem for me is that it doesn't do anything perfectly while games like dark souls 1 and Bloodborne or even sekiro, do quite a few things perfectly. And they sure as hell didn't look outdated as fuck when they launched. Hell, they looked AMAZING. And the music wasn't forgettable...and the level design wasn't mediocre at best (there are no good levels in Elden ring for me. The liurnia castle, something lucaria castle was the stand out but...nothing else was oh Soo good). Elden ring is getting so much hype because casuals can finally play it and it has lots of (recycled content), because the chalice dungeons are inside the main game instead of being a side thing.

But the fact Elden Ring was able to attract so many people for what is essentially a very niche genre should not just dis regarded as a small footnote. To a seasoned Soulsborne pro or even someone who just has high standards for the Souls series, it can be a little disappointing; but after seeing so many people dip their toes into Elden Ring and then dive head first into classics like Ds1, it can’t just be disregarded as something small. Plus (at least from what I can tell) is Fromsoft’s second game to receive goty (first not even being part of the Ds series or bloodborne)

I hate to be one of those people, but all the overt politics in gaming and other media really tainted the gay characters for me. Used to have no issue with em, but now every time I see them my knee jerk response to be reminded just how many character get turned gay good boy points and it becomes so much harder for me to treat the characters as I would any other. Doesn't help that a lot of the gay stuff I've witnessed was made with fanfic fetish tier level writing.

I kinda feel that a bit. I hate Bungie as a company, but when I found out Osiris and Saint XIV were a couple cause of a lore piece they put out, my first reaction was "ahh cool". But generally they and a lot of these companies just put shit out to virtue signal and it's a bit annoying. I like varied and diverse character so long as their diversity isn't their entire point of existing in the story. I still like Osiris and Saint with Saint being one of my personal favorites. But Bungie themselves besides becoming completely annoying about virtue signaling just let their game rot too much as well so I stopped playing near the beginning of last year. And probably for good which is a shame, I love the Destiny universe. I've got like 3.5K hours in just D2 alone.

@@jordanhunter3375 The idea roughly is to keep the game the same as it looks to go. Maybe increase enemy desity by 30% or their health. Or even give them an extra move to deal with 2 players. Make so if 1 drops the other survive it's a choice to sacrifice half of remaining health to keep both still fighting or move on solo until a revive area. In solo you can have the sibling like an assist use a weapon of your choice to use a move of your choice based on your choice of boons through a run. Granted it's basic as hell.

Tbh I get why people are like: I don’t like my character to be female The reason why I think is immersion, if I play a game for the first time I always play a male because he “represents” me, I genuinely make the choices I would irl. After that I make always a female character to see if there is something different depending on gender and choice options in the game itself, if there is it makes me happy because I get to have more content to play. And if I have to stare at a ass for 200+ hours than it better be a females. That’s why I have no problem if there is a OPTION to play a female, and im not forced to, 99% of the time im forced to play a female main its because of some equality crap, I play games to get away from irl not to keep getting bothered with it. I am a office worker, like 75% of my colleagues are female my boss and her boss is female as well, the majority are more competent then me in certain areas. And about games, back in the NES it was a surprise that Samus was a woman and everyone I knew found it cool, but also back then Alien also had a strong lead female protagonist and that was also cool so who knows what happened now. Well, probably the same thing that happened with Metroid Other M, poor writing. Nobody talks about that time when gamers were furious that they made the badass female bounty hunter Samus Aran into a submissive mentally frail girl who unreasonably follows the orders of her ex crush or whatever he was even though he has no jurisdiction over her every action as she's an independent entity by being, y'know, a bounty hunter and not a military personnel in that game. Going so far as to wait until she is given permission to activate her armor's capability to resist intense heat after you're already backtracking back past the magma zone. You know, I kind of want to see what a game made without any "wokeness" would look like and how bad it would be. To calrify: a game that has nothing that could be called "woke". Female protagonist? That's woke and got to go. Gay character? That's also woke and needs to leave.
