Well…..the question to me mainly is what do I need like almost always „displayable“ ? It comes down to software and I haven’t seen much about that (except messaging, translation and navigation I guess). To me it‘s all about ‚information workflow‘. I would be interested in notetaking, tasklist, calendar, so I don‘t miss dates, reminders and tasks. I don‘t care as much about messages, for others it is mainly about exactly that. It comes down to what can be tuck into the glasses software ecosystem and the vendor would be clever to invest in cooperations and offer an API to tie into existing information sources of what the customer love.

I'm looking for ar glasses I can match with something like a wrist worn keyboard and write reports or ideas down with discreetly. Keep my work from getting stolen or keep highly competitive coworkers from sabotaging my efforts. Could you look and see 1. If there is even a possibility of connecting any kind of bluetooth keyboard and 2. If there is any way to write things down in a note or document. And 3. Ray-Ban Meta glasses are great. This Even Realities G1 seems great. Both in their different way, but I think there needs to be glasses with both combined. I like the way Even Realities has made AR, instead of goofy big ecosystem goggles. Both the G1 and the Meta glasses at least look like normal glasses and let you use them as normal glasses too, even with prescription lenses. I think this is an excellent opportunity for Samsung to blow away both Apple and Meta, if only someone could tell them.

This is certainly in form, a groundbreaking demonstration of next level tech. But again, this is also the perfect opportunity to just wait for a year or two. The reason is that “they” whoever thy are, will certainly improve on these tiny displays. Color is on the way. Full screen movies and completely immersive vision tech is on the way. I already have so much in my Xreal AR Ultra developers edition glasses. For the first time in my life I was able to open a demo app on them, reach out in front of my face, and see my virtual hands in front of me. ready to manipulate virtual objects. The future is here now, but at the same time, it’s only “just” around the corner as things become lighter and more powerful. What’s amazing is that those little frames also appear to have cameras mounted on them. That part makes the “AR” or “Augmented Reality” part possible. Soon he will be able to place his hand in front of his glasses and manipulate menus with his fingers. We are getting to Minority Report and Tony Stark. This is coming people. Look forward and enjoy what is coming.

Great review - am excited about these, but one question that hopefully you could answer? The larger section of the legs (right at the end, which tucks behind your ear). How much space is there between that large section and the back/top of your ear? I wear hearing aids, and I’m worried that it will be impossible/uncomfortable to wear them (receiver-in-canal style, which means there is a small device that perches behind by ear at the top) with glasses such as this…

Thanks for the review, really appreciated your honesty ! 😇 I've pre-ordered mine last week but I was just wondering about 2 things : 1) About the translation feature, I've seen on the Even Realities app-store that you can pay for "translation time" ("translator_1_hours = $4.99", for example) but what is the monthly free "pro translation time" usage given ? (before having to use the in-app purchases) I understand they probably use an API that cost them money, making this feature limited in usage, but I hope they give us at least 5-10 hours free usage time per month :x 2) About the AI feature, I've read that they use an API from ChatGPT, but I was wondering which API they use : ChatGPT 3.5 Turbo API, or ChatGPT 4o Mini API ? Since the 4o Mini API cost 60% less (according to OpenAI), I'm hoping they are using this one. But if by chance you have some time to spare before your next video about the G1, could you test running the same prompt on your G1 and on the ChatGPT website to see if they give a similar answer ? @@SpencerScottPugh Even without the camera and AI this is very interesting. Even my eyes get tired from reading from phonesz tablets, monitors. If they can the ability to project books like Kindle and Pdf's that would be massive bonus points. The other question is about prescription. Many of the visually impaired have very poor long distance vision (in addition to other idiosyncratic visual imapairmentals). I known that projecting say Kindle or PDF on to 45 or 65 inch smart TVs or projector helps them a lot. But this means that the HUD equivalent in the G1 must not display too small. So it seems that at least prescription correction for myopia is essential.. Finally, there is a commercial opportunity for G1. As someone who has spent nearly 20k of own money trying to find visual aids and devices for children, the market is cornered by very expensive but not very functional we devices costing from 2k to 6k etc. But at the right price point, when funding in the US for individuals might come from State or Federal budgets, this is a commercial opportunity. You might sell to only 0.1% of the normally sighted community.. Only 8% of the US population have visual impairments. But the percentage uptake is likely to be higher than for the normally sighted community. At the right price point, I expect a significant percentage to consider something like the G1. And that's without the camera. Long as more of the phone fuctioality can be projected on to the glasses.. Even just screen mirroring. Is that possible?

I'd like to know more about 2 aspects that are on the current model. 1) One of the reasons I hesitate to purchase/pre-order these was because of the translation feature remains unclear. How well does it translate? Accuracy? Speed of translation? Does it still require to look slightly up to see the translated text? And, most of all, on their site they note on their translation section, that "charges may apply based on usage". I'd prefer not to have to pay a subscription fee to translate Japanese to English. But they don't really clarify it on their site. 2) Do they plan to solve the water/dust weakness? Because I work with flour and oil daily, I often clean my glasses by running it under a spout and using weak/mild soap to get them pristine. Doing so prevents the micro scratches that using only a fiber cloth without water would cause....and, obviously, soap makes the oil come off a lot easier.

Just got mine. The translation mode has a free and paid tier. Trying both the paid tier is actually very fast, 2-3 seconds to translate pretty accurately ( tried Spanish with a friend) the free tier is slower by like 5 seconds and not as precise. Both will display in real time right in front of you but if your talking back with the person it will get confused and try and translate you too😂 I don’t have any experience for the water or dust proof yet, I have been babying them for now

Having a hard time finding info on whether or not these can read a question on your phone or computer, then spit out and answer to the question. With the head tilt that could get pretty annoying to look up, perhaps say if you were taking a proctored test…

you have to start the tele prompt on your phone app then it will stay in place while you talk - no need to look up to see it.

Great review. Keep waiting for the Apple Glasses but this might be a temp solution. I have the Rayban Metas but they are way too heavy for all day wear. Really do need audio though. Calls/talk which this doesn’t seem to support. Also not clear how this integrates with all my iOS apps and services. I would love to actually see video of the entire experience and not just generic descriptions…

I'd like to go back to talking about transcription. There are many of us who are hard of hearing who would love to have at least some real-time transcription in English and other languages. From reading comments here, it appears that transcription is treated as an English-to-English translation which presumably would becomes pretty expensive at $4.99 / hour. Also, it appears the G1 glasses have their own microphones (which is way better than using mics on the phone), but it's unclear where transcription itself is occurring -- on the phone and through a subscribed service or through on-glasses software. I would think having to go from glasses microphone to phone app to a transcription service would introduce a lot of delay. Lastly, it doesn't appear the user can turn off transcribing for his/her own voice and only transcribe the other person talking. (This is a very convenient feature in many phone based transcription services) Is that correct? Could anyone comment on my various questions and speculations? Thanks so very much.

i would buy these right now but they are too small. they only have one size available and it says they are adjustable but they are around 15mm narrower than my regular glasses. i had the same issue with they Ray Ban meta glasses.....even the largest size felt tight but then they had thick arms which diddnt help, they did look ok though but these look too small on my head.
