One of the two approved English “Little Offices” printed after the Second Vatican Council. This “Little Office of our Lady of Mt. Carmel” was prepared by English Province of the Carmelites under the supervision of Fr. Hugh Clarke, O. Carm. Recalling the Constitution on the Liturgy prepared by the Second Vatican Council: “They too perform the public prayer of the Church, who, in virtue of their constitutions, recite any short Office, provided it is drawn up after the pattern of the Divine Office and is duly approved” (Sacrosantum Concilium 98).
