Beautiful evening sail. Seven boats. A Navigator, several Marsh Cats, a Melonseed, a Haven 12 1/2, a custom canoe, and an O'Day. Sidling into Sotterley Creek, Maryland, off the Patuxent River.

Just curious about the amount of wind it takes to sail one of these boat? …..or how little wind can you sail in?

Takes very little wind to make the smallest boats move. In some cases, less than 5mph. Basically, if it can move a dry leaf across the water, the smallest boats will sail. The heavier the boat, and the deeper the draft, the more wind needed to push all that water out of the way.
