“Through Sunken Lands” arrived yesterday, too - it looks like a really good take on pulpy sword and sorcery, thanks for recommending! Ended up with Black Sword Hack mainly due to episode length concerns. It does everything I want it to do with the least amount of overhead and rolling.

It’s got some interesting mechanics, the action system and “doom die” are pretty neat and Quinn also still needs to whip out his weird science inventions from the depths of his bags at some point. There’s also rules for sentient weapons that’ll probably handle Orrin’s suit of armor quite well should we be able to get our hands on it.

Sweet! Happy to hear it! First edition is still available and there’s currently a running Kickstarter campaign with six days to go that’ll produce a somewhat expanded second edition. It’s a pretty slim booklet but the content is dense and it has everything needed for a lengthy campaign with some cool added mechanics (e.g. the demonology, mad science, sentient swords, etc.).

Loving this new campaign! Excellent timing by the way, I just came across the Black Sword Hack kickstarter (ultimate chaos edition) and backed it like a week ago. Looking forward to more of this!

Yeah that was almost coincidental, I’ve owned 1E of Black Sword Hack for a while now and also recently backed the Kickstarter, which made me look through 1E again at a point where I was looking for an engine to drag my party through #dungeon23 and it matched everything I needed in the best possible way. Definitely fortunate timing on that Kickstarter, might’ve easily overlooked the slim booklet on the shelf otherwise!

For anyone who has read the elfin lied Manga. The stone heart coma guy in this series reminds me of when in elfin lied a bounty hunter cut off the arms and legs of a human demon hybrid and wore her on his back with life support just to use her as a tracking device . 😢

Hey, I appreciate you taking the time to comment even if it was a long time ago. I had to step away from KZbin for a bit and got a little frustrated by that, so I wasn't answering comments like I should have. Apologies for that! Things are going to get back into swing now, I've been a little under the weather for about a year and there've been a number of medical procedures performed on my noggin that needed to heal up first, now it's all good again!
