Quirky masterpiece, as is the whole TOK. The battle system doesn't deserve so much bashing, especially after you get used to it, puzzles become more complex and satisfying to solve, yet retaining the possibility of paying Toads to sort it out for you. IMO the greatest drawback of the regular battles was their repetitiveness, mostly in the first half of the game. I think that some rng, more weapon options, combined with less time on puzzle solving so you don't take the 1,5x damage buff for granted could make it more fun... What I mean to say is that I am aware of the battle system flaws, but it is kinda fresh and with some polishing and balancing it could be real fun. Boss battles on the other hand were pure joy to me with their emphasis on figuring out the correct tactics.
