Cammy treated worse in the lore than even Chun-Li like it all went downhill for Cammy when she lost to C. Viper who is a one off character in The Ties That Bind she took a L from than in the Juri OVA like Chun-Li, Cammy took another L when Juri beat her but she got her revenge on Juri but she still a L in A Shadow Falls you can forget about it she couldn't beat Vega she lost to him multiple times like I don't understand why Capcom do these characters like this Cammy is almost a semi jobber.

That's all true, but Capcom is Japanese, and a huge theme for heroes in Japanese culture is always getting back up and continuing the fight. No matter how many times or how hard you knock Cammy down, she'll keep fighting. That earns her huge points for respect!

For years I held on to hope that Capcom might give Cammy an important win to restore her good name after they used her as a stepping stone for Viper and Juri. It's been fifteen years since the stupid SF 4 anime now and they haven't, and I've abandoned all hope that they ever will. They're never going to give her a break. After Vega beat her repeatedly in SF 5 I just quit the game in disgust. I'm only barely interested now because I like the character development she's got in SF 6, but I'm expecting Capcom to ruin it for me, because that's what i've come to expect from them.

John, this isn't a bad idea, but there's one huge plot hole you missed: März was not with the other Dolls at the end of Street Fighter V. My research points directly to März being involved in G's story and 6 in some way. Cammy could die trying to free the final Doll.

Personally I don’t mind having characters to die in fiction. But the fanbase always build their preferences over time which the reactions are inevitable to come as long as it has a nice set up or a bad set up to piss off the fanbase. In fact, if SF II is directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino, I bet Cammy dies immediately at the end of the plot and obviously Bison.

Amazing video, thank you! I'm all for a crazy interesting storyline for Cammy that'll keep her interesting and relevant. About her family though, I always considered Delta Red to be her family. Special forces teams form VERY close bonds like biological families. I really hope Colonel Wolfman and the other members of Delta Red continue to be a major part of Cammy's story.

I don't think Cammy's not dead, she's still alive so do speak. But! She's with Chun-Li, Guile and The Delta Red Team that all matters, then Street Fighter 5 was her story to help with her sisters like "The Dolls". Now in Street Fighter 6, guess Cammy's new look isn't bad at all. With her new look like Street Fighter 3 (Which she ain't in it.😑) always kind of streets, but her orders to find JP (new character) to save "The Dolls" to bring back to normal, like restore them! I'd rather not see her die. If she died, and the dolls forgot her, regardless of how huge the sacrifice is, the result would be wasted. If your drive is to make Cammy "taken out of the series," then you could do the same thing, have her in a "paralyzed" state, with the dolls realizing the sacrifice. Then they'd return the favor by caring for her, and she'd know this, giving all parties some kind of reward. They would all experience "family" but it would have the tint of darkness that you're looking for. In a way, your version of this where she'd die and her sisters didn't know would be cruel to the player, and cruel to the characters involved. I remember playing Mortal Kombat games and beating the game only to have the ending say my character actually "didn't" survive what I just did, and it took the reward from what I just endured. There NEEDS to be a bit of a reward in the ending, or people will be dissatisfied, and not come back. We play games to be moved, yes, but not destroyed. Life does that for free.

I do find that I tend to go hard in terms of sad/depressing outcomes when I get creative control of stories... but I did write this with the inevitable comeback in mind... which I think would make for a big reason to play whatever game she returns in.

Hey thats not the story of SF2. Cammy was not a clone, she was brainwashed and Bison even told her they were “in love”. They rewrote her as a clone later and that story sucks. Also this idea of killing off popular characters bc you’ve run out of ideas and resurrect them later is RIDICULOUS! Its lazy, stupid and how many times will people do it until they realize its a terrible idea. How many times has Superman died? Its not impactful, its cheap. Especially if you know its not permanent. So you get more plotholes and shitty writing for free. Just take MK11 terrible Time Travel (sigh) story. Only so they could bring back 100 characters they killed in the series. But you’ve also got the zombie ones. Its a mess. Leave Cammy alone! Having her grow and finally fitting into society, maybe even getting married and having a child is a much more interesting idea. A normal future to contrast how crazy and sad her past was.

Cool video, I think this is the best attempt at putting the entire story together I've seen so far. I doubt Capcom themselves thought about is as carefully as you did when making this video. What about the cat thing though, where did that come from? I remember Juni likes cats from Cammy's SSF4 arcade ending and SF5 character story but now all of a sudden it's Cammy's thing in SF6. Well at least from what is seen in both the character reveal trailer and the leaked commentary voice lines. EDIT: Ok she just has the cat in the arcade prologue of SSF4, maybe thats just where it comes from idk.

Great theory but one major flaw. Only cammy and decapre were clones and had genetic ties to bison. The other dolls were kidnapped from ther own families. Juli is from the same tribe as T.Hawk. But I do think she may have reason to seek jp due to decapre possibly still deterioating, and JP has reason to see her since he talks about needing a proper vessel for the psycho power.

Very informative recap. I appreciate it. I'm not down for your SF6 Cammy storyline though, as I've seen very similar storylines enough for it to feel kind of old and she's one of my favorite characters. I think they could definitely do better than, loved one(s) is/are dying from some sort of medical or mystical problem and character must sacrifice themself to save them. Considering how family is the central theme of her story, it would be good for her to have to make some sort of difficult decision in relation to supporting said chosen family. However, making it a life or death sacrifice just feels.... cliche. Maybe her narrative could have some sort of focus on the way she sees her family instead. She has spent so much time living to save them, maybe now she's somewhat stuck in savior/protector mode whenever she thinks of them. So, her story could be about the Bison dolls actually gaining some autonomy/individuality and her learning that she can rely on them rather than continuing to carry the burden of trying to be their hero. I know that's kind of cliche too, but I think it's a bit better. Regardless, I am hyped to see what her actual story will be, but I'm also definitely gonna temper my expectations. P.S. I'll never really understand why people are always itching for characters to die in fiction. I would say the best journeys irl conclude with you having learned something or grown in some way and continuing on as a more complete person. If your adventure ends with you dying, that's rarely going to be a happy ending. I would say, in 99% of cases, that would be a bittersweet ending at best for the survivors. You'd have no perspective on the ending, being, you know, dead.

I like your narrative. You could even speculate that Cammy's absence in SF3 was because she took that time to help them regain that autonomy and establish their lives again after the Dolls release from Bison's psycho power. Her return in SF6, like Chun-Li, could mean she's finally come to a peace with things now that her main obsession is no more. You could even reason that's why her trademark braids are gone. On a different note, Cammy is one of the most popular SF characters ever created by the franchise. Being one of the few SF characters that have been included in other video games outside SF ( besides Ryu, Chun-Li or Akuma ), it just wouldn't make sense. Not to say it couldn't happen...it would just seem extremely odd, even for shock value. I might be a bit biased because she is my favorite character after all. I just can't wait to see her again. ❤

Part of the head-canon for my female CaC in SF6 Cassie is that the reason why her fighting style is a fusion of Luke's style and Cammy's style aka her stance and most of her big moves she learned come from Cammy with her keeping some moves that she learned while training under Luke like the Sand Blast is because while Luke set Cassie on her heroic path, Cammy becomes a adopted mother-like figure to her. Yes part of this CaC bio is Cassie saw her parents murdered and her older brother get arrested and framed for the murders and while Luke starts her on her heroic path and the other heroic "masters" she encounters try to keep her on the heroic path Cammy becomes the "master/mentor" that is able to reach her and they form a adopted mother-daughter relationship though Cammy is kind of reluctant at first but eventually goes with it, in a sense seeing Cassie as a "young orphaned kitten who needs a Queen(adult female cat) to properly raise her and keep her on the right path" though Cammy makes it clear to her new "adopted daughter" that if she's going to train her and become her adopted mother then Cassie will need to learn that she doesn't take crap and will expect Cassie to follow orders when given.

did always like how vega(fitting with his view of beauty.) was alongside dhalsim part of who gave cammy a new life along with her fight to save the dolls/getting even with juri(viewed that as juri knowing in her head she was a hypocrite in 4 as cammy was brainwashed when juri caused chaos on her own accord in the ova.). love her moments in 5 talking with chun li about family/seeing sean playfully grappled by laura & with how more casual she is (her outfit does remind me of blue mary & if snk vs. capcom 3 happens be cool seeing her interact with leona as they are pretty similar with their themes of family and dealing with having ties to the villains energy with psycho power/oorochi riot though think leona's is a bit stronger.) for 6 would love to see them focus on that showing more of her being a big sister to the dolls(loved that in her arcade ending & forming a team with them in the udon comics.)/hanging out with chun li(a few winquotes imply she has respect for sakura as well,could have some nice moments with the 2.) alongside showing more of delta red. but really don't need her dying as if anything i'd love to see gill/urien take interest in her genetic body trying to use her & the dolls to complete the twelves as their society wasn't really defeated in 3rd strike(think it will be revealed to be them or g.).

yeah, no, that story-pitch doesn't work. Way to melodramatic and kinda in odds to what SF6 seems to bring to the table both visually and storywise, and it doesn't mesh well with cammy either. I'd honestly go and give Cammy rather a story about "legacy". This would fit perfectly in with both her prior story and SF6s main narrative. Let her question her own life as "Bisons daughter" so to speak. It would be interesting to see how Shadaloo kinda turned into a tiny historical footnote at best after Bisons final defeat at the end of SF5, and how this affect Cammy as well now. Seeing how even as someone with the strength of M-Bison seemed to have no large effect on the world could make Cammy question how history would see her after all was set and done. This would explain her casual outfit, because she wouldn't be on a mission for her not special Task force, she'd be cruising around the world to find her future so to speak. This could bring her into contact with the next generation of Street fighters and let her come to a fitting answer to her question of self worth, or, heck, let her find someone to train herself. In this set up you could even go for the classic "Is she doing this for *this character* or is she just in it for herself?" story to give her a bit more of an edge and allow her character to get more facettes.

Yeah but deaths don't mean anything if you keep bringing them back over and over again. So I think they should come up with a better story but I do think they should press more into a relationship with her sister and them becoming more of a family and a team fight on the side of good. But i would like to see the dolls with their own unique set of skills that they have been working on to differentiate themselves from each other the way Ken and Ryu is doing now and maybe we can see some cool new characters come out of the dolls so we don't always get Cammy every time .maybe they can swamp them out in different games.

Assay just reboot an entire franchise from the beginning and give us an actual complete reboot of the entire franchise start over with Street Fighter 1 Indian Street Fighter 6 but she first 3-handle cammies guess she was dead or missing. I would do it this way haven't asked Street Fighter zero then one then to Dance 3 then 4 + 5 + 6 because doing it the way they did it back in the day Street for the 12 then 2 x 12 is at 12 different twos and then you enter Alpha zero than Alpha 100 Alpha cutie Alpha 3 and then Street Fighter three and then for an M5 and M6 the timer for messed up

Die or not, it's REALLY time Street Fighter move on from the SF2 characters. No characters should be an automatic shoo-in. Yes, I get that people reacted negatively back in SF3 when they initially tried an ENTIRELY new cast, but it's now been 30 years. Ryu, Ken, and Chun could all be replaced by their respective apprentices. As for the remainder of the SF2 cast, I'm genuinely hoping to see T Hawk and Fei Long in the DLC so we can get every SF2 rep their final send-off, at least for a long time. It's going to be many, many long years between each mainline SF title. By the time we get Street Fighter 7 on the PS6, I see no reason why we need to keep seeing the same exact faces with the same exact storyline they had from SF2, only older. Also death in SF means nothing when verifiably dead characters--Gouken, Dictator, Charlie--all have their "somehow Palpetine returned" moment later on.

I've been saying that for awhile now. 4 should have been the send off. I was mad that they stretched it out to 5 and I'm annoyed that 6's roster is still 2 heavy. Capcom is using the 2 cast as a crutch at this stage.

Doesn't Gen eventually die? I figured the reason he could have been absent in street fighter 5 because he died of Leukemia. If so, then Cammy's death wouldn't be the first.

Thats right they're "sisters" None of the dolls are related to Cammy (besides Decapre). The DNA that Cammy has is Bison's. So I can't see this as a Story scenario you cooked up being for Cammy.
