What’s amazing to me is the comments of so many on here about the price and comparing to other multi effects but fail to compare them to strymon’s when you are paying $450-$500 for one type of effect and to have delay, mod and reverb of those you have to buy three different pedals totaling Around $1500 with no drive or pitch effects….. the Eventides (like the strymons) are professional level Studio Quality effects, it’s a different animal and not something that should Be compared to Line 6 (as good as they are) Boss, Headrush or the like.

That's why you see all these kiddies coming out of the woodwork creating ambient. They buy stacks on stacks of pedals from Chase bliss and hologram microcosm, and they pluck a single note on their $300 synthesizer and post a video asking for Patreon subscribers.

@@bexserver No offense to this you or this Eventide, more just my commentary on all the "instant ambient, just buy 3 ChaseBliss pedals and you're a star" music that is all over KZbin these days. Quite a few Ambient channels popping up begging for Patreon. But I do like the functionality of this H90, especially being a huge fan of the vintage H3000 Rack iteration.

@@station2station544 all good mate, I wasn't offended, just curious. Not sure I agree with you though; the amount of KZbin ad revenue and Patreon subscribers it'd take to pay for a single CB pedals would quite a lot, plus a lot of time to make that money back. Anyone who can use KZbin to make that kind of money deserves it imo

I had mine for about 7 days before selling it. If you like hi-def sheen, candy shell, polyrhythmic sequencing, micro pitch, digital delays, shimmer, reflections, swelling blooming stuff, then this is for you. If you like a gritty 12-bit reverb and analog delay with character, look elsewhere.

It’s definitely awesome and powerful, but most of the unique features are things I would probably never use. So I think I will just stick with a much simpler GT1000 core or HX stomp to handle all of my modulation.
@IsaacLausell
@IsaacLausell Жыл бұрын
First of all the positive: I like that Eventide products deliver and allow you to manipulate the guitar’s timbre in a way that has always been beyond anything else in the market. The idea of a multieffect is awesome. The not so good: The format still suffers from the same nonsense of the Factor pedals, you have a switch that allows you to bank down and two switches to select the presets on each bank. Who would build a $900 unit and not include a bank down switch? I understand that one could add a footswitch however at this price point the workflow should already be practical. Considering what else is in the market being able to run two effects at a time is quite limiting. The format and size of the unit is practical however in my opinion the product to build would be something that allows you to simultaneously run at least one effect from their general categories considering pitch shifting, modulation, delay and reverb. I am aware that there are some plausible redundancies considering that for example the micro pitch effect can generate modulated delays as well as chorus however this would free up the player to exploit the possibilities of the Eventide brand. With something like this, all that one would need for a complete board would be some drives and expression pedals. As someone that travels regularly small format solutions are prime nowadays. I still own Eventide gear and it has served me well over the years however I think this product being presented could be developed further.

@@nigeldaddyo Yeah, I'm not hating on this product - I really do think it looks great! I've not used Eventide effects as much as Line 6's, but there's some I prefer Eventide for (that tri-chorus is incredible, as is practically all the pitch stuff) and there's some I prefer Line 6 for (the reverbs, delays and overdrives are fantastic). It was more that in the demo above I seen all the routing options, the paths the ins and outs and thought "man, that's cool!" then I remembered that my HX FX can do pretty much all of that! Just made me think how forward thinking Line 6 were is all.

@ANSWERTHECALLOFJESUSCHRIST
@ANSWERTHECALLOFJESUSCHRIST 2 жыл бұрын
Dang. You had two. 😮 You should get the H90 if you miss that Eventide sound. As you probably know already, it has all the H9 Max algos, plus they are enhanced due to the much peppier DSP. It even has the SP2016 Reverb, which I love and have owned in plugin format since...2016. 😄 I always held off buying an H9 Max due to the limitations of the interface, plus it was just one effect at a time. Sounded great, but stacked effects yield more possibilities. Even my Zoom MS-CDR70, which understandanly doesn't need as much processing power due to it being basically a toy in comparison, has more than one effect at a time. As soon as I received the H90 announcement e-mail from Eventide and I saw the OLED screen and more than one effect, I knew I had to have it. It was such a long, agonizing wait in the back of my my mind, but seeing and hearing this new H90, it was worth it. I pre-ordered it on zZounds. 😀 Sorry for being so wordy!

I've used the H9 for live shows with presets all set up and just need to do minor tweaking depending on the room etc, and I am not much of fiddler with my pedal board, so the fear of using these types of pedals is gone for me! BUT, this one looks way more complex! I will fumble around with it in my home studio and record with it, as those pedals are incredibly great sounding! We're in a golden age of pedals!

Wow it's 2022 and we have an Eventide pedal that can play two sounds at that same time for only 900 $. I'm impressed. Welcome to the new millennium! 🤦(tell me it's a joke please)

This was the first specification I was looking for. How disappointing. At least they remedied lack of true bypass and line level input from the H9. At this price point it's hard to justify when there's competitor products with similar form factors that can run as many effects as their DSP will allow.

@@klabooty Hi Kyle. Eventide is a great company but man this pedal is a totally non sense. An Hx Stomp can run up to 8 fx at the same time with (of course) a touch less quality that no one is gonna notice in a live environment. And, again, those damn midi ports on the side that forced us to place this pedal as last in a chain to live space for a midi cable. What a waste of space.

Since my comment below, it went belly up on me. I plugged it in and the screen stays black and every light on it lights and stays lit. I can't get it to do anything! Anybody got any information that can help???

Awesome. I have the H9 max but not into the wheel and I’m new to this and not the sharpest pencil. Soon 👍

Good quick tutorial demo. Ease of use looks well thought out. Sounds Eventide of course. So now I just gotta sell my girlfriend. She'll understand once she's heard it. Wish they'd offer this in a rack unit. Guess it's another drawer 🙄🙄
