Epic video, subbed. I borrowed a Moogerfooger when tracking an album a while back and loved it for wild sounds and self oscillation. Going to try some of the settings you suggested on the Rose now!

Analog/Digital hybrid FX are the future. Being able to do things with the analog BBD chips that other all analog pedals cannot do.....is GREAT!! We don’t need an analog VCO for modulation 99.999% of the time. A digital LFO is just fine. Thanks for the demonstration.
@Claidheambmor5 жыл бұрын
Well said, I think a digital LFO is where the money is at with analog effects. Nobody craves an analog LFO!

Analog LFOs are a PITA. Unnecessary.

Thank you very much! Been looking for an MF-104M replacement all over the place. This will do :)

Nice comparison. The monger footer definitely has something.. But the rose is in the same stratosphere . Tip ! Thanks

As much as I love Eventide gear, the Moog MF-104M sounds so much better. I have no idea why. The Moogerfooger's Square Wave Modulation takes the sound both up and down as well.

Well all this has been noted. The Eventide Rose seems like a very good delay pedal. I'm going to research it a little more as I am in the market for some pedals atm. I wish I invested in at least one Moogerfooger while they were available but now they are ridiculous prices second hand I won't be joining the Moog bucket brigade (if you pardon the pun).
@StarskyCarr5 жыл бұрын
Haha I was genuinely shocked to see them up for £2k - doubt they'd sell for that but others have gone for over £1k... for a Delay...??

Thanks a lot! Great comparison! Could you also try the mooger fooger plugin the comparison if you ever do another?

Hey Starsky, maybe you or someone else here can answer- what’s it meant by ‘analog feedback’ on the rose? I saw that in the literature the delay is digital but feedback is analog. Am I wrong in thinking that feedback is synonymous with repeats?
@StarskyCarr5 жыл бұрын
yes feedback is essentially the number of repeats. It's analog as in its actually the signal going back into the delay other than a sample of the signal (I suppose!).

Personally I think the Moogerfooger smashes the Rose.
@MrCornWolf5 жыл бұрын
Ya most of the time in these a/b comparisons for similar things the difference is negligible. But the moogerfooger just sounds so much better. I'm not even listening with head phones and the difference is crazy. Wish it was so much money
@MrRoskoPeko5 жыл бұрын
MrCornWolf It’s ridiculous what people are asking for the things now they are discontinued. Cross fingers someone puts the same BBD chip back into production.

The Eventide Rose with the Lowpass Filter set counterclockwise is its strength. Anything past noon is not ideal. Solo'd, the MF-104M sounds marvelous, however, in a mix, it is way too dark. Eventide Rose smashes the Moog in a mix.

Nice, man! You already solved the problem of mono delay to me. I have a Moog MF-104M, I would like to know if I can control it from the iPad (i have the wire/adapters). Thanks!
@StarskyCarr5 жыл бұрын
It should be possible to control the 104M from any iPad MIDI controller app. Using the Virus works flawlessly for me, which I use to access the additional functions and to tweak automations in Logic.

What kind of note progression is that sequenced in the Grandmother for the demo? Does the sequences play through twice, then get transposed? It has a very mythical/future vibe I feel like I have heard from older video games.
@StarskyCarr5 жыл бұрын
its a 32 note sequence - a couple of 7th chords as far as I recall

How does the pedal decide what notes to play? That's why I never liked sequencers because I feel like anybody can just press a button to do it, and it'll sound the same

Then it's a good thing that Rose has seven pages of MIDI Parameters on its MIDI Implementation chart.
@shawnsaul77595 жыл бұрын
Daniel Fisher but I don’t see any DIN midi ports? Can it be midi synced and subdivisions clocked? Im seeing some TRS and USB midi implementation but not sure if that’s for basic midi or if for clock sync and other features like a Strymon Timeline.
