stupidbaby I’m a bit older into the 60s years. Had been moving about for job callings and such. Ended up with significant neuro disorders and decided to come back home. Home base, I’m fortunate that I can dig through archives and ancestry sites to gather the info i weak ofwhat happened to aunts GreatAunts/uncles, cousins, Great grandparents and great great grandparents from all over the world. Most of my tribe is buried in local cemeteries and a bit further In other states. Patriarch lIneage was forced to serve in the continental war, they were unloading thieves, stealers ,horse thieves, Welch jails were oveRcrowded so off they went on the foulest vessels with other foul persons. One was a commander. In the RevolutionRy war. Clifford C Davis. No not know what ever happened to him but like my other kin, would love to locate him. I spent time, looking though records at libraries, city halls, The folks I can find though the scads of pictures we have are invaluable. I have started going for visits to the graves of my immediate pack and it’s been a wonderful experience. I will find my Charles C Davis burial site. I’m thinking Virginia. He served in the battle of Yorktown and worked to establish the second settlement after Jamestown. But our tribe is still here, welcoming next generations and I’m focusing on visiting the ones ho are at risk of being forgotten. It’s fascinating. Sometimes you learn more by starting at the end of life and move forward. It’s a blessing that I can thread these families together by establishing they’re last “address” All the best to you🙏🌱💘

Then... What’s important? Surely that’s subjective to the individual answering the question. So to the eye of the beholder, everything could be important, so remembered for anything is important. Or the truth could be, as with nihilism, nothing is important because nothing really matters as it’s all for nothing with an unavoidable path into the future. So maybe no one is important, being remembered isn’t important. But that comes back to the the individual answering the question.

RISHABH KUMAR everything matters on a subjective level. If your life totally sucks, do you think it mattters? Of course you do because you are suffering and you want a way out of suffering. You will feel things matter. Suffering will make sure it does. And reality is like this for every single living being. Objectively nothing matters, subjectively everything matters. And subject is the thing we only really know is real.
@jdc4316
@jdc4316 4 жыл бұрын
Joey suffering is inevitable for every single being on this earth. Things only matter if you make them matter, you’re generalising when no 2 people are the same. Moreover, the human spirit isn’t made up of binary, thus one’s inner beliefs aren’t painted in black and white- especially when considering that they themselves likely do not know what is is they believe and what matters to them.

What matters is your personal subjective existence. Do you cry after a great movie ends and conclude that nothing matters anymore because it's time has run it's course? No, of course not, that would be absurd. Your life is a movie in which you're the main character, do whatever the fuck fulfills you. The possibilities are endless once you realize that.

My only issue with this is that saying, "we wont care" implies some form of emotion and being when, in fact, after you die there isnt even a you. It's not that you dont feel emotions, but that "you" simply no longer exist. Its kind of a paradox because you can imagine yourself not existing from another's point of view, but not from a 1st person point of view because imagining not existing requires that imagined self to exist, which once you die, it dosent.

I do the same. It’s like I project a sense of nostalgia into the minds of people that no longer exist. As in, if their spirit still exists, how much they must ache for that period when they were alive. Watching a video from the past is like time traveling and seeing them as they were when alive. Put another way, if an alien civilization far from earth had a powerful enough telescope they’d be seeing dinosaurs roam the earth from millions of years ago...not unlike when we look at the stars at night and see our closest star-Alpha Centauri- and see it as it was 4.2 years ago. (In other words that star could disappear right now and we’d still see it the sky for 4.2 years, etc) Anyway, it becomes mind-bending if one thinks too much about it.

I don’t know who you are Pursuit of Wonder, but I just want to take This Moment to express my eternal gratitude towards you; even if you never see this message. I’ve been listening to your videos for almost a year now and I just want to let you know how much your outlook, altruistic philosophy, and calming voice has provided me with a little bit of hope every day. I know you’re a stranger, and I am a stranger, but even though we’ve likely never met your virtual humanism and unknowing affinity has changed my life. I just want to tell you not to give up making these intellectual mind-bits because you are an amazing individual! I have clinical major depressive disorder but yet every time I watch these videos I seem to gather a whole new perspective on life and am challenged differently through your thought provoking commentary. Thank you very much for doing what you do :) For what it’s worth, I’ll always cherish and remember you for your sympathy and compassion; the good person you are.

The universe told itself “I love you”. We will all be forgiven. Everyone is forgotten. Nothing matters, but it matters to me. We are all existentially alone, but we are all alone together. Let us sing with the salt of the earth that we were beautifully made. This is an “I love you” as a kind of cosmic acknowledgment of someone else’s existence. I love you.

wPanda “If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will think it’s stupid.” - Albert Einstein I know school can make you feel trapped. You’re surrounded by hundreds of people who have certain expectations and the routines can feel monotonous, especially when you feel like no one there understands you. Just know that there’s a big world out there and school is just one small moment during your life. Some people, their best days are their high school and college experiences (which is ok), but there is so much more after school and there’s a place in the universe for all of us that we get to navigate, or we at least have the choice to do so. I know everyone around you acts like they have all their plans figured out and people pressure you to know what your future is suppose to be and have a plan and be “successful” but I just want to tell you that it is ok not to have everything sorted out. Some people don’t know what they want to do until they’re a grown ass adult, and even then they might still change their plans. Intelligence is measured in so many other ways than what we learn in an institution, and we all learn in different ways because every person is beautifully unique and processes differently. The true lessons we learn are those we find from life and the people we end up intertwining with. I encourage you to divulge deeper into who you truly are as a person, and I challenge you to grow and change from that person. Edit: also, failure is a necessary part of the journey. Anyone who tells you differently hasn’t learned from their failures.

Afterlife is more complicated than just fear of death, I mean that does play a part in it, but if you go to ancient religions afterlife was just basically hades and hell, I don’t think anyone would want to believe in the afterlife if it’s just fear of death then, afterlife is more based upon lifestyle in this life and the morality of a soul, I don’t know about you but it sounds pretty stupid to be afraid of death and then invent a place of eternal torment, I would just resort to lack of existence than believe in an afterlife that’s just torment and chaos. Therefore we must come to terms that afterlife is more than fear of death: it’s logical sense i.e do good live forever because no soul will harm your existence if that soul is good, that’s why I personally believe afterlife is based more upon righteousness than fear of death

Life is kinda like high school. Even the most popular kid will eventually graduate and move on as will his former classmates. A few decades later, all his former teachers, principals, and staff that remember him will be retired and replaced by new staff that never met him. So he's completely forgotten at the school and all that remains are old records of him that have to be looked up. I graduated high school in 1987 and I'm sure that most if not all the teachers I had are long since retired or dead. So if i went into the school today, nobody would know me.

I don’t know why, but that last scene hit me. It not only shows that anyone and everyone can be forgotten, no matter how famous or infamous they were in their lives but also the thought of the entire culmination of someone’s life, especially one who seems so influential in the present day, becoming a simple afterthought gave me chills. That’s the reality of it all I guess, everyone has hundreds of millions of experiences through decades of living but is eventually reduced to nothing. You can’t dwell over every person’s life though, despite their experiences seeming so crucial and significant. Life is short and we all die eventually; some earlier than others, and in millions/billions of years, the entire human race. That doesn’t mean life has no meaning though, life has a meaning if you give it one. It’s only natural to want to be remembered, but being remembered shouldn’t be one’s number one priority. I believe experiencing what it is to be a human should be. The current human life expectancy is 72.4 years. That’s 72.4 years to do what you love, invest time and energy into things that you express passion for, and make connections with others that are unbreakable.

By then, it's not personal. Its universal. Your personal experience is a mirage, or if anything, a minute experience in totality. It's a universal experience. If in 3855 or whatever science is the new religion, human descendants would feel like the great figures of science are probably just as imaginary, but not disproven that they've existed. Remember this. “ Nothing is permanent and everything is in constant change”
@MrCreative1777
@MrCreative1777 4 жыл бұрын
WILLIAM RAMIREZ World is subjected to constant change just as everything else. Impermanence and interdependency is the truth. That’s why we need each other. Just like a plant needs water, ☀️,soil to grow to become a tree. We as humans are dependent on each other. So this holds true during this crisis. We should help people who need help as there’s no difference between us. We are all seeking to be happy and joyful. Reduce suffering of another being through compassion. Everything in life that we see around us does not have solid permanent existence. As you look around you will see a wall or building a house or car of a bag or a phone , toilet paper , door , frame curtain etc. All these are empty in nature means they don’t have a true existence. If you breakdown and examine them you will see each of these things have to depend on something to come into existence and we give them names once it has a solid form. Since we were conceived in our mother’s womb and we were born we started moving not towards getting younger but older towards aging and dying. Nothing is permanent and it’s in constant change. A table or chair that was just completed has already started degrading. Wind and dust have already started making subtle changes to it. If you are interested in impermanence and interdependency then I would suggest reading 📖 some Buddhist text. It will help you understand this topic more in depth. It’s has immensely helped me in my day to day life. I apply Buddhist philosophy to the way I live and I feel I am not subjected to lot of the sufferings people face in their lives. Life changing. I wish you all well.
