I love this. I actually wish Catholic parishes had more of a ministry for helping pregnant and postpartum moms in general. For any that really need it, like they’re sick or don’t have support etc. My 4th pregnancy was extremely complicated and I was on bedrest for a long time before and after my birth, and my baby and I were both hospitalized after the birth. My midwives and Protestant friends kept telling me to ask my church for a meal train and ask for help. We are members of an amazing Catholic Church that we love for every reason but this one. I knew they weren’t going to be able to help me in anyway. It was very hard, we went into debt hiring a doula to stay with me and the baby in hospital so the baby could stay, and I was up and trying to feed us long before I was supposed to before and after the birth because my husband works a lot and we don’t have any family support. I feel this is a problem. I would be happy to be a part of a ministry to bring meals or help with childcare or anything else these mothers need.
