This stunningly featured but well-camouflaged creature lives in the shallows on rocky reefs and in sandy bays. Fly Point at Nelson Bay is a perfect location for its foraging activities.
Watch as this ray actively feeds on the sandy bottom, catching shellfish, worms, and crabs, crushing them between its jaws. I was only inches away from it and it didn't seem to care about my presence. Amazing!
