Ever Wonder How Much it Costs to Rebuild an Engine?

Have you ever wondered how much it costs to rebuild an engine? Well, today I am taking our LS3 and everything that goes with it to the machine shop. I am going to show the process and at the end, I will break down the costs of having an entire engine rebuilt including the cylinder heads.
This cost does not include any parts like new pistons, crank, cam, etc because there is just too much variance in price depending on what you are building. This will be the cost of the machine work and what the machine shop will need.

A shop tried to charged me $2,500 to rebuild the engine of a 2005 dodge neon ,, that was 3 months ago !! , I still have it in the back yard !!!

I just bought a 99 silverado although the engine is not blown still runs and everything I want to get it re-built want my truck to last me forever I want it to give it my one of my kids someday in the future when I have them

I just got the transmission rebuilt as well I want to take care of the bigger stuff then narrow it down to smaller and smaller things until it’s perfect

sir I would like to know if gm 4.3 liter heads, casting number 14099064 with the eyebrows will work on an engine with the TBI intake set up.. the 4.3 engines are very confusing from so many changes over the years.. I have a 93 block. I have read that the 14099064 heads were an improved flow head, designed to be used with the CPI fuel injection system. I also read that some of these heads were used in the higher output K series and W series engines with the TBI set up.. I dont want to waste a set of head gaskets if these heads will not work with my TBI intake set up.. thanks
