Town scene has come up a treat Richard, nice work with the smaller details. It's true they always seem to be the most expensive on our layouts but can often produce the best effects. Nice to get the remainder of the retaining wall too. Cheers, Dan

Very nice indeed. My Grandmother used to do all the gardens on my Grandfathers models - I think that because she enjoyed tending the flowers in her garden, all the models she did were miniature semi-professional flower gardens! As to the video: one of my earlier thoughts was to trash disposal (especially with a store on the corner), but no sooner had I thought it than there you go adding a few garbage bins. Other thoughts were the odd rotary washing line, maybe a childs swing set and toys, and, of course, TV aerials..... but then there's always part 2.

Peter Stanley Hi Pete. I plan to add more detail to gardens, paint the doors on the houses, fit building lighting, add pedestrians, improve pavement detail, add signage and add weathering to the road. Thanks

Greetings from Oklahoma. This episode is one of my favs of your wonderful series. At about the 11:55 mark, I am unfamiliar with what the three orange, gray, and green "boxes" you placed along with the red telephone booth are. I'm guessing a dispenser of some kind, but can't think of anything I've seen in the real world that could give me a hint. What are they?
@EverardJunction10 жыл бұрын
Barry Wilson Those are recycling bins. These ones are for different types of glass and can often be referred to as a 'bottle bank'. You often find them in car parks to provide easier access for residents who are unable to dispose of glass in their domestic bins.

Recycling and wheelie bins are more 90s onwards and the telephone box, but great work. Loving the videos and looking forward to seeing the new layout coming together

Nice work. So simple, but really effective. I wouldn't want to live in the houses sharing a garden...where would I sunbathe nude in the summer???!?! lol Town scene now looks the part. I have a town scene, but at my rate it will be 2016 until I get to it!! Dave
@EverardJunction10 жыл бұрын
DaveClass47 If you're planning to do that I wouldn't want to be there. Everyone would be able to see you!! Still got loads to do. I've also started the suburb scene. Its going to be a while before I get any of them finished.
@DeanPark10 жыл бұрын
I see Noch do a pack of nudists, 4 pack, 2 male and two female...would be a nice little cameo for your layout?....maybe have them playing tennis in the back garden or Swing Ball perhaps? (pun intended! lol). I am going to put a cheeky (yes, don't say it, but that's another bad pun!!!) wee scene like that in my town lol, eventually! Its going to take me a while until I get ANYTHING finished! I keep having to buy stuff to complete a particular part, if its not ballast, paints to weather, its scenic stuff and now a Static Grass applicator! its just £££££, and not forgetting all of pre pre orders I have!
@Nathan_A_RF10 жыл бұрын
Nice job! You're layout is becoming more and more realistic! LOVE the station sign too. Not to be pedantic though, but the station road wouldn't have road markings and dotted pedestrian crossings, the zig-zags have lines at the end of them and the entrance to the car park could have entrance markings like the give way lines. Road signs would add a nice touch too, being a town scene
@EverardJunction10 жыл бұрын
Nathan A RF All to come later. I've got loads and loads to do on both town scenes.

Some great videos you've been putting up this year. I particularly liked the Canal videos. Good to also hear you used to live in Watford too, my hometown as well. Did any of Watfords rail systems and networks inspire you in putting together your layout at all?
@EverardJunction10 жыл бұрын
Matt Bishop Watford inspired the time period the layout is set in and the town scene is similar to where I lived but thats about it. The lines around watford are electrified and I don't have the skill to build all that.

Nice! Regarding the shop ... would be nice to have an "Arkwright's General Store", G-G-G-Granville .. ;-) I know the original's actually in Rochdale, but every old terraced street like that should have an Arkwright's ... it should be the law! And what better tongue-in-cheek nod to a British comedy legend? ;-)

loved the opening scene of the hst with coach lighting, watched your previous tutorial on coach lighting which i found inspired me enough to attempt this project,unfortunately i have shelved this idea due to a comment you made at a later stage regarding a problem. My question is what was the problem and did you solve it.
@EverardJunction10 жыл бұрын
zedcell eng I've haven't had any problems with the lighting apart from the first one or two I made. I didn't take very much care with those and they eventually failed. So far I've lit 24 coaches and they all work.Are you talking about the derailment issues I had with the hst? That was a separate issue which was solved by changing the wheels in some of the coaches.
