Evercade Alpha Just Revealed! Arcade1Up Countercade Competition! A direct competitor to Arcade1Up in the Countercade or tabletop Arcade space has just been announced with the Evercade Alpha. This Bartop will feature 6 built in Capcom games and the ability to plug in Evercade Cartridges and add additional games. Things are heating up in the home arcade space.

They're getting so close. A full 3/4" scale cab with physical media and dedicated art/marquee/build would be phenomenal. Doesn't seem as far-fetched with this release.

I really like this and it's a step in the right direction, but it's just too small. The MVXS was a bartop and had 2 controllers and a decent sized screen. I'll wait til they eventually bring out something more resembling 3/4 free standing.

OK, so what kind of hardware does this run on? Is it possible to swap out and install into a 1Up size cab? Let’s get to modding! We’re getting so close to getting a 3/4 scale cab of SF Alpha I’m hoping, and soon after a SFIII cab. Fingers crossed.

Very cool show today, Michael! We've needed some fresh blood in the home arcade scene for a while now and these countercades will help to satisfy those cravings. This may be Evercade's prelude to the 3/4 scale cab market. Keep your fingers crossed.

I agree with 100% we need Capcom carts for sure. I was disappointed that there ia no HDMI port. Thanks for giving positive exposure to the Evercade ecosystem.

I used to own the Evercade EXP handheld and sold it, mainly due to lack of interest in most of the game selections on the carts. The physical cart products themselves were a bit disappointing too. They had thin plastic boxes, and "manuals" with super thin paper that were often a page or two at most per game. And one of my carts went dead after less than 10 uses, lol. That being said, i know it's a popular product and brand and the hardware itself was pretty solid, so this arcade unit is promising. Still a bummer that Capcom wont allow them to make a cart, but the capcom games have arguably been the best software Evercade has received so it is still welcome.

Personally this is a big WIN......LOVE this idea......Imagine a 3/4 cabinet that you can use physical media on......I am super pumped about this announcement and I bet the quality will trump the Arcade1up countercades

I would get the SF one because of the Alpha games especially 1-2. I don't see Tastemakers releasing Alpha games via an update or a new cabinet any time soon. But, some of the newer SFII cabs can be softmodded so you can put Alpha games on them. It's just that some cabs like Big Blue and Deluxe which I have but didn't build Deluxe yet, are more complicated with modding. Big Blue you have to do ADB, and Deluxe you have to get to Settings through the calendar. But I already have Champion and Super Turbo on Big Blue, and the Deluxe which I didn't build yet. And I have the MyArcade SFII which is just Champion. i sold both of my New Wave Toys ones, one was sealed.

Maybe one or more of the graphic companies could make graphics for this like in Final Fight to put on the Megaman cab. Just the side graphics and maybe the control deck. I'm not sure about these, I have SF games on Arcade1up cabs and if I wanted Alpha games I could softmod one of them. Even $200-250 US dollars is a lot of money to spend. In fact, I got the SFII deluxe for under $300 on ebay and sold 2 new wave toys SFII cabs for $400 each which I used some of that for the SFII deluxe. The one New Wave SFII was sealed in box. I originally paid $99 each for them I believe. They are out of print because all of New Wave's 1/6 cabs are limited edition. You have to overpay on ebay now.

I think this is essentially the announcement most of us expected, other than the Capcom license. It's a cool idea, although I think the majority of what Evercade does is not arcade ports. Not for me, but could be a good multicade option for some.

Already bought the Mega Man deluxe love the game list. I liked the Street Fighter version also, but online multiplayer would be needed for me to buy that one. Also agree with the last point in your video can't wait to play some these carts like an arcade.

Very cool. Final Fight would be my choice. Like to see a Williams cabinet with Joust Defender or Sinistar. Especially if A1UP isn’t bringing back the defender Partycade.

Looks good I like it, I will be getting the SF one, I would get both if megaman was final fight skinned, I wished the deluxe version had all 12 games and yes please bring out capcom carts also Taito carts from the super pocket game list

Again these people need to put out Arcade games that have not been ported to get game collectors and people really interested. Imagine if Consoles just kept putting out Street Fighter and Pacman.. They would Fail!

even though I own all of these via arcade stadium, I think it WOULD be neat to have if it supports the other evercade arcade compilations! would definitely have to confirm HDMI support before I plunk down for one, cus that's an awful lot for just a portable. otherwise seems really cool!

So tired of these little " Toys" We got the Tiny Astro City Mini, Taito Egret II Mini, and others These things historically do not sell well, and they are hard to play one due to their tiny size. I wish there was some manufacturers that has the balls to release one of these things with at least a 15 inch screen to actually be able to play on.

Good lord, hard fail. Countercades?!?! We really need a true competitor to the disastrous current state of Arcade1up 3/4+ scale at an affordable price. 199$ starting empty carcass up through $499 for an XL with game(s) and such. If someone just did Arcade1up XL style cabinets. Set as a custom order pick from just an empty carcass all the way through choosing your game cabinet skin, buttons (generic/premium), sticks (premium, base, happ, sanwa) , coin door (lit/unlit) , marquee, etc. This would end the need
