Cathedral is a fantastic game on the switch. Challenging but alot of fun. Really cool seeing it on Evercade.

Both games are great. Own alwa's collection physical on Switch and just got alwa's awakening on NES! And will also get this one. The game is that great! Cathedral I own digital on switch but will play it to completion on evercade! Evercade rules!!! I hope it will be with us a long time!

Both are excellent games! Certainly the stuff I enjoy playing. I'm pretty sure evercade will be around for a while. To be honest I didn't think it get this far.

@@CrazyBurger - You might be surprised...I got an EverSD cart recently to test the capabilities of the system and was pleasantly surprised to find that it runs Monkey Island 3 and Monkey Island 1&2 Ultimate Talkie Editions on the RetroArch ScummVM core and WarCraft 2 and the Klaymen games on the stock PSX core...I'll be testing more PS1, GBA, and even some Nintendo DS and PSP games on it this weekend! I'm also going to dig around and see if I can find a compatible 3DO RetroArch core for it...this is on the OG handheld mind you, not even the VS. This system has some CAPABILITIES!

Great video as always. I don't know if it's just me but when I play the Steam 8 Bit Alwa's Awakening NES ROM on Retroarch the jumping feels a bit more weighty to me. It'll be interesting to see how the 8 Bit version plays on the Evercade :-) Keep up the awesome work!

These specific games remind me a lot of Reknum 3 that we got as last month's Game-of-the-Month on the VS...I played through the whole thing and I get the feeling that I'm REALLY going to enjoy Indie Heroes 2, so it's a MUST PREORDER for me as is this one! It makes me wonder though if we'll be getting Reknum 1&2 and the second Alwa game on a collection cart as well.

I'm sure it'll come if needed.. not sure any of the c64 games selected need the controller. Hopefully get the c64 vid up during the weekend. Playing through the games. Bruce Lee is good fun.

Nice hearing your thoughts on these. I do think there is a lot to be send about physical. To buy these physical I'm pretty sure they're over 20 quid on switch (one one of them anyway)

Yeah, I think that's probably what we should be comparing to realistically. I'm sure I saw the Alwas legacy cart for well over £20. Based on that the value of the Evercade cart is good. Both great games.

Just checked and Alwas goes for 60 dollars for BED cart although there was some nice collectables

*OMG That would be the best thing ever to have on the blue boxes, old Mac and DOS games lol jesus sign me the f up now!* 🤩 Totally a sideways glance, because it will probably never happen - but I would love to see some really old Mac games converted to Evercade - Jeff Vogel's Exile III : Ruined World would be amazing on Everade, they could use the Windows XP version of Blades and just include the scenarios from Ruined. - Jazz Jackrabbit 1 & 2 platformers - Duke Nukem and DN3D shooters - Doom 1 & 2 (though probably never happen cuz it's owned by Activision now I think) - The Exile and Realmz series classic open world RPGs from the 90s - MDK, Discworld, tonnes of point and click adventures. - Pangea games, and the Escape Velocity series. - Xix puzzle games and more modern puzzles than we currently have - Level builder games JJ2 and DN3D both have level editors which could be ported. It's a pipe dream but my God would that be amazing on Evercade, make it more main-strain as well.

I purchased Alwa's Awakening for the NES, I was hoping that it would be released on the Evercade just because it's such a fun game. The NES version differs from the one released on Steam and I'm assuming the one that will be on Switch. I didn't even know that there was a Switch version.

I bought this basically straight away after I saw this the first run, now looking back it's basically the second most used cartridge I own! Alwa's Awakening is the best one, I think there is a sequel (on cart for Evercade I mean) planned as well. Cathedral is good too but I didn't complete it yet. Wonder if you have seen the endings for both yet? 8-BitGuy David Murray has confirmed his games are coming to cart this year too!

@@CrazyBurger Search for "Attack Of The PETSCII Robots" and "Commander X16" if you want to see why I am so excited to see him games. He's a KZbinr, a little like you but American and older - but he does retro computers rather than consoles. His games are all modern in the style of 8 or 16 bit and they're amazing games. Go see, I reckon you will love his channel! These days he's fairly large but he started with less than you have in terms of people watching every week. Like you though he is authentic nobody pays him to like their products.

@@CrazyBurger I just spent $160 (£147) on his games in signed boxes, 720K floppies and a megadrive cart :) Fist pump. Been waiting ages, and $55 per game is awesome for a ful big box game with manuals and a CD32 USB custom made 8bitguy pad. It's arriving next month!

@@CrazyBurger He confirmed it to me personally last week. He said there is a slow process with Blaze but it's been in the works already for months. Soon as it's there I am buying a couple, that will be a gold level trade when I need those last few carts for the full library in years to come!!! I just received the DM games box literally this minute :D Well pleased this is amazing stuff. So much for 6 weeks sending, GamersNexus took that long and so did LTT.

This could probably turn out to be the best cart on Evercade?! 🤔 Maybe these Duel Cart games are the future, and way forward for Blaze?? 🤔. At least for the Modern retro stuff! Maybe you wright about the value for money thing though. But on the Evercade’s ecosystem. I think it’s value will shines brightly? 💯 Buying this game if the actual review is GREAT! 🙂👍

i think Alwa's Awakening is the nes version. its 4/3 not 16:9. it was remade to run on nes i think by brad smith who made lizard

Im al for indie games on Evercade. But i realy dont like most of the indie games that are released on Evercade so far. I love Tanglewood, Xeno crisis, Tanzer and there are some other Megadrive indie games that are fun for a play through. But i realy could do without al the 8 bit platformers. Im not looking forward to this cart. I realy wish that Blaze would release indie games like Paprium and Metal Dragon. More quality 16 bit indie games. Thats what i want.
