This song makes me tear up every single time, and it's weird, because I've never had that experience. I guess it's just that beautiful and powerful. Maybe it just makes me think of the time my mom told me she dated a really sweet black boy when she was young, that she really liked him because of how kind and thoughtful he was... but then my grandparents found out and forced them apart. She told me about this and still cried as she did, decades later with me, saying she'd never forget him or the way her relationship with her parents was permanently damaged because of their bigotry. It broke my heart. Much love to all of you who broke through those barriers.

Not to people who really know good music. They had an epic run of great albums in the 90s. Even their first full CD "World of Noise" was good. I had the pleasure of seeing them 3 times in the 90s and early 2000s. They still make music and I love Art Alexakis, but it's not the same.withouth Eklund and Montoya.

Interestingly enough, bigotry is much stronger today than it was then. People who were racist, sexist, etc. back then were open and up front about it and everyone else just got along. When I was a teen I was secretly dating a Black girl who I loved but would never introduce her to my family because I knew they wouldn't accept her and she broke up with me. I wish I had simply followed my heart but I didn't it is the greatest regret of my life.
