That would be a huge relief and help out and immensely. Thank you for continuing to do this Alan, I'm not a climber but I enjoy hearing and learning about all this, I know I'm not the only. Thank you for you're continued hard work and dedication. Stay blessed

Great interview. Just getting ready for long EBC trek myself. But there is no way that a yak has a bigger environmental impact than a helicopter.

Not one yak, but it would take scores of yaks to make the same carry as one helicopter.

Caught this one a few days late; good job again Alan. You should teach a KZbin tutorial on "How to Conduct an Interview Properly!" There is a skill to it that most people either don't have, don't recognize, or both. Your interviews always have a nice, steady tempo and flow to them. Also, you instinctively know when, and how much to interject. There's an army of podcasts out there where the individuals conducting the interview spend more time pontificating and giving their own thoughts, while their guest(s) sit and wonder why they were invited. I was going to make a small suggestion for what might make an interesting show for your listeners. Interviewing Craig Storti! He came out with a book last year titled 'The Hunt For Mt. Everest.' I finished it about 6 months ago; it details the whole prehistory and saga of Everest, from it first being identified by Europeans, named, its surveillance and measurement, and ending with the first British expedition in 1921 at the North Col. He also covers how the history of the region with the British Raj, the Anglo-Russian rivalry, the First Afghan War, the establishment of the Survey of India, and all of the political intrigues and individuals that came to affect the lead-up to the first British expeditions. Anyhow, I just thought it might be something new and fresh, and I'm sure he wouldn't mind plugging his book. I enjoyed it! It's a total of 258pgs! Thanks again Alan!

Alan this is great stuff. I hope one day you get him to show the masks n stuff. By 2024 Starlink should be fully operational on one side of Everest but I don't think anywhere inside of China.

The 0 emissions stuff is a joke. If you care about the planet or emissions then you shouldn’t be climbing in the himalaya.
