At 8:31, when describing the lake effects, Zee got it backwards. A lake always provides 1 generic growth to any 2 adjacent trees (always 2 trees). The track at the top of the board is how many lakes you gain by the lake action. 1, 1, or 2 lakes.

Love this new format- emphasizes how reviews can be so subjective. Also love the different points of view and helps me decide whether go purchase the game or not. Thanks, dice tower!

This was my favorite game I picked up at Gen Con. Absolutely loved it and randomly running into Hjalmar Hach at my hotel, he was a wonderful man who went out of his way to sign my copy of the game.

Thanks for the review! I missed the numbers for each person's score showing up.

yes, please add back. I want to see all the scores and then decide if I want to watch the whole review. I'm not going to spend 24 minutes watching a review for a game to find out people didn't think highly of it.

@@thedicetower That's a weird answer, as you do say your score, it's just a viewer experience thing here, it would be nicer if they were also shown

Sounds like score wise, this game is a personal best with company of friends, which is nice. Also "Treezers" is going to be a thing from now on Chris!

The girl and I give it a 9/ 9.5.. this game sings. She suffered like Camila in her first game.. I wish the lakes , triggered lakes maybe . But this game is such a good couples game we pull it out all the time .. and Tom's right on the teach , I don't understand how ya'll get so confused.. lol

Love the new format and thumbnails. Dice tower is always improving!
@tomasxfranco2 жыл бұрын
I don't really like the thumbnails, the white on blue looks too flat for me. The dice tower part doesn't pop enough.

I completely agree with Zee. One of my favorite from Gen Con. Very elegant graphic design and gameplay. I do agree that while they made the box eco-friendly including the baggies that components came in, its not the best for gameplay

A neat little game, certainly looks like it is for more veteran board game players that like puzzles more than competition. That said It looks like it could use more player interaction as Tom says, like with objective cards. Or maybe a rock card, lets you force another player to put a big stone somewhere that interrupts areas (but can be mitigated for bonus points somehow, like maybe surrounding it with tall trees or something). A reason to look at others players boards.

I don't get the whole end game points, "who won?" issue. Seems to be a fairly common and shared aspect of most point based games. Games like that, everdell, flamecraft, and so many others tend to all have this. You do your own thing, rack up points in different ways and at the end see how everyone did with what they had. You can sometimes gauge how well they are doing sometimes, but that is only slightly and unreliable. After all they could have all different manners of scoring points, even just saving surprise end game score and such.

Thanks for review. I have a question about the "new" format if that's what it is. I looked up and expected there to be numbers for everyone's review. Is the "9" overall rating an average of everyone's rating of the game? I looked up when Zee said 9 and saw the overall rating - but I do recall Camilla saying a 6.5. Thanks again for the review!
@codym63762 жыл бұрын
They always went with whoever rated the highest they just haven’t done this many multi-person reviews before except the 4-squares. I’m really liking the multiple people giving input though. Much more useful of a review.
@Crazyc1312 жыл бұрын
I do think they should list the numbers under everyone at the end for clarity. The bottom line lists the highest score given by the reviewers and that is the score that determines whether the dice tower seal of approval or excellence is given since every score is just an opinion. If someone feels like the game deserves a seal, then it gets a seal. No one's opinion invalidates someones else's (an average of opinions would just be the BGG rating in the end). I believe this is a summary of what Tom expressed in the past.

Ugh, small treas block the sun from shinning on the tall trees that are direclty behing it. This annoyed me in Photosynthesis too. The sun is in the sky and small trees won't cast a shadow that big. I know its nit picking, but it sticks me. I would play this over Photosynthesis anytime.
@Poiuytrew.Q11 ай бұрын
I don’t get it - in photosynthesis if a tall tree is behind a small tree, it isn’t affected by the small tree’s shadow…

Game looks good but i dislike games that have this solitaire feel. Another game i own, Dinosaur Island Phase 3&4 is solitaire. I usually house rule these moments where every player takes their turn before the next. So in this game Evergreen I would let everyone score their pts a player at a time so everyone is aware and make sure we score correctly…similar to Azul scoring. Yes the game slows down a bit but at home it’s worth every interaction 🤓
@RynoKenny Жыл бұрын
Seems like too little interaction. Does this have any more interaction than Kingdomino? I think I’d always choose Kingdomino over this game because of the simpler teach for the same amount of player interactivity.

Multiplayer solitaire where everyone is only fixated on their own player board. Hey, it's not the first of its kind but it's boring when people are not playing with each other.
