On this day in 1980 {December 13th} Don Everly performed "Dare to Dream Again" on the weekly syndicated television program, 'Solid Gold'... Eight days later on December 21st the song entered Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart at position #82, four weeks later it would peak at #63, and that was also it's fifth and last week on the chart... It reached #9 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary Tracks chart... Between 1957 and 1984 the Everly Brothers had twenty-four records on the Top 100 chart, thirteen made the Top 10 with three* reaching #1, "Wake Up Little Susie" for 2 weeks in 1957, "All I Have To Do Is Dream" for 3 weeks in 1958, and "Cathy's Clown" for 5 weeks in 1960... Phil Everly passed away at the age of 74 on January 3rd, 2014... May he R.I.P. * The brothers just missed having five #1 records when both "Bye Bye Love" and "Problems" peaked at #2...

I love Phil Everly.He is a beautiful soul...It's strange that I danced in the Sandy Duncan TV Special & John Davidson was a guest..I worked with a lot of Artists but I never worked with The Everlys ; and it saddens me that I never did ! But I did see them in concert in my hometown in Scotland when I was 13..Phil was 20 !!

Yep, sure sounds like he's adding the kind of harmony to his own solo like he would add while Don was always sang the melody. But Phil sounds great doing both melody and harmony. A fine talent on his own and as a duo with Don. :)
