A quick overview of how I set up and run a high level beastlord.

Nick, you've said a mouthful. It's so true. I remember playing back in 2,000 and the game was so simple in comparison. Fun, fun as heck, but a cleric could get away with hitting CH every ten seconds in many cases. A tank would pull a mob, position himself, hit attack and lean back in his chair. I'm breaking down the Shaman class right now for my own enjoyment and it's taking me hours working through each ability, they have such a rich array of things they can do.

Just started leveling a beastlord after getting my mage to 112 a few days back! I have always played a mage but have also wanted to try a beastlord. This video is useful but I feel there is so much to learn. I have a warrior to box with as well with my beastlord. I am level 44 right now and I am having a blast!

There is so much to learn. I put together these class videos, but I don't get it all. Just look at what I put out as a starting point and then do your own research. Both mages and beasts are solid high dps classes these days.

Nice video! What disc/aa combos do you use for burns?

Rather than try to write it all out in a comment, I did a quick video about it. Keep in mind, the burn rotation I mention is aimed at grouping, there are slight shifts you'll do if raiding (for instance I don't mention Venomous Alliance, which if you're grouped or raiding with another beastlord, you want to use pretty much all the time).

Can you do a video that goes from vanilla to current and describes all of the functions and commands like bandolier and /assist (etc) that have come out? I had never even seen hotkey setups like thay (multi colored / 12x keys in a block / etc) trying to come back but feeling a little overwhelmed lol. I didn't even properly use functions like aggro meter when I played before..

@@Twelvestrings I'm just glad I had at least *some* previous knowledge of setting up my UI. Any *new* player would be way way overwhelmed directly after character creation

what are you using to color your bars like that ? / I Like i. Wondering is it a program ?

No. You can right click on the bars. Set them to texture and do colors. I did a video on how to do it.

set up massively diffrent then me… but i am also a 95% keyboard player clicking keys is just to slow also 20 years as a beastlord so

I have all my nukes and certain abilities bound to one key and mash that through the whole fight and keep focus paragon on yourself and canni when it is up. Rotate through aas if I'm just soloing and only dot mobs that take over a minute to kill.

Solid plan. Key binding works well with most classes.

Have you also tried a rogue merc? That's all I ever use and just keep two salves up for pet. They don't use the same timer so you can spam heal pet if you actually had to. But the rogue merc adds so much more dps it almost seems unfair.

Yeah. With a bard in group, I'm getting VERY high dps. Blows away casual player dps. You do need to manage aggro. I never use a wizard merc any longer. Never use a tank merc. It's heals or rogue dps.

Awesome, the fury spell also helps the rogue merc right? I heard some spells don't land on mercs for some reason. I have the balanced rogue button key bound with my slow which I use to pull. Then he usually jumps in when mob hits 95% then I manually set him to burn. Seems to help with the aggro. All my mash abilities I have on hotbar one and bound to a key along with the pet aa damage shield and the 4 nuke spells and just mash that one key. As long as I keep focus on me and pop canni and paragon whenever it is up I don't run out of mana. It's very colorful seeing all that going off constantly lmao 🤣 but like 10 or 13 things bound to that one key is the only way I feel like I'm using the beast potential or close to it anyhow. There is just so many things that need to be pressed

I haven't tested the fury spell on mercs. So I don't know. Pretty sure it helps as I haven't read otherwise. I have /stance keys set up for my mercs and rarely lose them anymore. I agree on the hot keys. Classes are so complex now. I'm updating my necro guide and it's so much to cover, lol.

Where are you macroing your eagle strike and round kick?

From what I can tell it's the melee attack macro. Can you please share how that macro reads?

You can set both Eagle Strike and Round Kick to autoskill. Then you don't need to macro them. You can /autoskill both skills.

What are the 3 buffs you use?

I will do Reclaimer's Unity (which casts Spiritual Vehemence and Spiritual Insight). Shared Merciless Ferocity (lasts 27 minutes on my BL). Pact of the Wurine, Feralist's Unity, and then haste or movement if not with a shaman or chanter.

I kind of agree. Mind you. I enjoy the game, but it's transformed into an almost entirely different game than early EQ.

what do you think about beastlord dps? is it up with monks ?

Very competitive. Equally geared and skilled monk and beastlord will be statistically identical in my experience. I'm looking at raid parses for entire events, not a single burn on one named. It seems there is a bigger gap between unskilled and skilled beasts than monks. But that's just my impression.

Sounds like a plan. Beastlords are some of the strongest ADPS in the game and can be great DPS. But they aren't for everyone.
