Everquest: Thoughts on Modern Era EQ Tanks and How I set up and Play a Warrior.

I discuss what tank class to play and then show how I would set up and play a 115 warrior. Keep in mind, I'm no expert and there is far more to the class than what I discuss. There's always a better way to skin the cat.

They should redo EQ, keep all the mechanics but upgrade the graphics and re-release it.

they just won't , you have no ideas what's going on in the management's head luckily we have monsters and memories .....literally our last hope for a game pre 1999 eq

You don't my chance have a video on how you make those hotkeys do ya? I'm new to tanking and I just got back into the game since I quit back in 2011. I made a warrior and I'm loving it but I don't get how to make the hotkeys. Just turned level 20 last night.

With you having font so big to see you should turn on Abbreviation. Right click on window > Hits Modes > ALL > Abbreviated or even Numbers Only mode. Another great video and good content keep it coming

Played EQ for over a decade and I was an 8+ hour a day player. All the button mashing for a decade, and my fingers and wrists have bad arthritis now.

Sorry to hear that. I started with a bard back before melody. Changed classes because it was getting to my wrists . I play about two hours a day.

Warrior's are useful for 3 minutes when tanking a raid boss. That is what they are good for. SK and Pally are more welcomed in every other aspect of the game.

True. Though the group game is pretty easy if you are a raid warrior. They put out really solid DPS. I'd choose an SK over a warrior for groups. But a warrior will do just fine and less button pushing. If you're boxing, a warrior might be easier.

Ouch pally burns... lol jk. See I love the pally for groups. They offer way more for a group then an SK does. I didn't make warrior main because I wanted to be able to solo.

I tell you, paladins do so much DPS these last few expansions. I enjoy every tank and like to switch. I'll admit that I've focused on my SK as my primary tank. I used to play the warrior mostly. My paladin is 112 and I haven't focused on my paladin, partly because I group with a guild paladin all the time.

Don't know how people play current live EQ. Too many AA's to worry about, too many spells now. I played hard-core raiding warrior until the end of Proph of Ro. Was still kinda fun but it began getting not so much..

@@Twelvestrings yeah. Still the best around. I just started casually on p99 Green. I played lockjaw/ragefire and had 2 mains BiS in every expansion until they started opening quicker. That was fun but I didn't like having to play just to try and keep up there at the end. I had to 6 box just to keep up with progression. And I don't use 3rd party programs. Just really good macros and organization. P99 is fun for a different reason. More focus in not dying because of massive xp loss and a corpse is honing my skills again.

Nice. And yeah, six boxing gets old. I box less and less, but still will do missions like this to gear up alts. I had a mage logged ready to come in for the chest.

That is a lot of buttons. Best part of warrior back in the day was having 5 buttons and 0 spells. Simple.

I totally remember those days. Even as other classes went to more complicated setups, the warrior was still fairly simple. Now though, he's just like almost every class. A button pushing fiend. The rogue is the one class that can be very effective and only push a few buttons now and then (assuming he's set up correctly). Mind you, I've been playing Lost Ark and that is a button fest.

@@Twelvestrings i looked into playing firiona vie instead of a TLP and I don’t want to have 50 buttons. On any class. I guess my best bet is Angnarr PoP locked or mischief or whatever comes out in May 2022

@@deathknizzle I think you're right to look into the TLP servers. I have a good friend who loves it and we're always trying to get the other to join. I still enjoy the live servers, but it's a completely different experience than what EQ was back in the day. It was much slower then.. I'm playing another game now in addition to EQ and my gosh, the action is faster.

EQ has massive button / ability and timer creep. It’s insane, and every class has it.

Cool. Yeah, my focus is on the very high end of the game. I still log on to TLP servers to play with friends from time to time. That's a mind blowing experience too. Going back in the past. Hope you enjoy the videos.

Twelvestrings I did. And I will continue to watch. With a 4 month old baby and a full time+ job I don’t have a lot of time to play, but I like to keep in touch with my all time favorite game. These are some amazing videos you’ve produced and KZbin has caught on because you’re in the algorithm and they suggested your videos to me. Keep it up EQ is becoming very popular again, all these years later!
