EverQuest 120 Necro: Current System with Me explaining everything I do and why I do it.

After finishing off my final key focus AAs and listening to input from people like Mike I and MrKveite1, I've modified how I'm running my necromancer. This system will undoubtedly change again and again as I try different things. It's intended to be a relatively high DPS, mana sustainable way of tackling mobs continuously.

Nice insight. I've been taking a break, mostly, until I get lev 120 with overseer. I do a lesson burn each day to keep my aa's going, but that's it. About 30min a day and missing a day here and there. I'm 119 atm, so getting there. I'll put some videos up sometime as soon as I go to the new zones. Plus, I have too much going on to play all that much. You might notice I took off the comments on my videos. Some kid, or something, annoyed me and I just don't feel like dealing with the trolls. So I nipped it in the bud before it turned me off on doing videos at all. I'm just here for the fun and don't take the game as seriously as some peeps do. All props to you, Xellen, Hammackj, and a few others covering Live EQ normal servers! You guys are great!

And so are you Elwood. I totally understand. I've taken some videos down entirely where I've gotten comments that sat wrong with me. Mind you, I don't mind being criticized about my in-game technique. I'm always learning and have gotten some great comments that help me play better. Like you, I took December and most of January off. Too much real life stuff. I hope you do get back into it, but really, just enjoy life. I've been trying another game recently, Lost Ark. My first new game in a long time. Yeah, I've got my alts doing overseer. I log in on them and work through getting five of the longer quests. Then I also put one or two in group with my necro to work some quests. Just not feeling the urge to grind these days.

You can slow reasonably well as a necro. It's very helpful in tier two zones. Just hit cremate bones and then if you get the black undead buff, hit scent for the slow. It's the same trick you use if you want to charm a live mob to tank a hard named.

I really need to put up a video again. I've been busy a little, have some mic issues, and feel a need to use Shadowplay (Nvidia's built in software) to record in the future. Xellen has been using that and it seems his headset mic sounds better than before. I just haven't had the energy to troubleshoot the tedious recording stuff when most of the time I just wana log in, put the TV on, and relax while I play EQ. My order for DOTs is very old-school. I do entirely by duration starting with the longest duration DOT first. (10 DOTs total) once I get to the 30sec DOTs cast, at the end of the rotation, I cast swarm pet, then the Blood Nuke(the chaotic power nuke) and alternate those 2 until the mob is dead. I figure this maximizes how many DOTs are active when chaotic power/synergy aa are running. As you mentioned, everyone has their own way of Necroing and I just like to keep it simple so I can keep one eye on my TV while I hit the numbers on my keyboard straight down the line. hehe I'll see about putting an update video out soon. I actually just put that together using commands, etc., available in EverQuest. There is nothing non-standard about it. But I use all the ways of changing the size, color, etc., of hot bars and in some cases I'll use the Viewport command. I've got some videos on hot bars, etc., that show how I do it.

The same as he use in this vid but a lower lvl version.... If you go online and search for necromancer spells you can go back up the list and find your current versions.

forget trying to slow them, use that spell slot for incite ally and keep it up on your pet.... barely ever have to heal them with it.

Conflagrant gear is still my go to pet gear as a GM smith just cause all i have to do is farm the conflagrant ore.... in my experience the armors rank as such: mage summoned, full set conflagrant (that is vis/jewelry/weaps/mask... the works), then the best (but most difficult) current expansion attunable...this last one is almost impossible to do with any efficiency though.

What is the "z" key? some new system? seems like you're using it to cast whatever is up automatically?

I get it, for the "z" key he is binding all the hotbar slots in that hotbar all to the z key. then if the first spell is on cooldown it will do the 2nd spell

Exactly. I just bind that key to my hot bar and then drop in whatever spells I want to use.

Yes ... and no. You can definitely pet tank with your necro (not as well as a mage or beastlord by any means), but if you baby your pet, it can be done. Check out Xellen's videos for better practical examples.

I am genuinely disappointment at the one trick ponies that Necromancers have become... Root rot, is so boring. Charms seem too dangerous later level, without all the enchanter AA's that reduce breaks and allow quick CC to re-charm... The more I look, the more it seems that Enchanters are TEH CLASS to play, if you are looking for a class that's still capable, and versatile, when outside a group setting. Your thoughts?
