I came back to EQ after 20 years away and have been having a blast on Teek. It’s very accessible for a casual player like me, and I’m looking forward to sticking with it and seeing all the expansions I’ve missed over the past two decades.

You should check out The Heroes Journey ... its an emulator server with an active population that rivals a TLP at launch. Its a unique take on EQ that allows multi-classing ... 3 classes rolled up into a single character.

2nd this. Been playing with 2 other friends and it's perfect for a smaller group of friends to get a chance to raid together and do high-end content without the commitments a real guild requires.

I read about it. Multiclassing makes it not interesting to me. Id like just a normal EMU that simply has all the QoL that the TLPs have. That would be nice.

They clearly don't care about the integrity of the game for many years. MYSEQ and MQ2 plugins run RAMPANT. I love the IP, but it's beyond repair. I have to stop giving them my money

Already left Teek. I'm a not a huge fan of the random loot servers as it makes it too easy to get gear and brings our the boxers, krono farmers, and general toxic players. Maybe Random loot and its all no trade to balance it out. Id be OK with just a normal TLP. Id really like to be able to start as Iksar but the start at Kunark didnt have the effect I would like to see.

@@DEichenberg yes with a huge but! They have confirmed at very very early stages. Will be interesting to see EG7s financial report to see what investment money is going in over the next few years

What should they be doing though? Probably just a standard server, but I am on Oakwynd for the long haul. The ONLY thing that could potentially pull me away would be a no krono server. I have never done TSS (or anything really after this expansion) and it is very cool. We are closing in on being flagged for Frostcrypt and Ashengate higher end raids and having a lot of fun.

Honestly, this kinda confirms to me that the resources are being poured into an EQ3. Honestly, unless the TLP has something super cool, I just gonna play Pantheon Rise of the Fallen to get my EQ fix, and keep playin FFXIV, which I'll probably still be working on the 2nd raid tier at that time anyway.

Last word is total revamp of EQ on a new engine would cost less and do better than making a whole new game.

IDK what you expected... EQ basically been maintenance mode for probably 15 years or more... Sure they release an expansion every year but mostly just status quo.. 2024 was just special cause of the whole 25th anniversary thing

Perhaps the staff are focusing this year on EQ3 and the future of EQ in general. That would be my hope. Hard pass on THJ, people that play for nostalgia don't want a Frankenstein EQ emu.

I play with many many other nostalgia people. Weird take that nostalgia only seem involves the grind in your mind, not the zones and encounters

@wolf986 Personally, I think people like you are why Krono farmers stay in business, and MMOs are constantly failing. You are in some rush to get to the max level, to get your gear, then complain there is nothing to do and quit. You want an easymode game, you can solo everything in, then complain that there is no community anymore. I see your channel. You are more like a video game tourist than someone that sticks with the game. There is nothing wrong with the "grind" you treat as some bad word. The "grind" is where people find friendship. Perhaps before you quit the next TLP before you make it outa classic. Try slowing down and enjoying that part you seem to hate. The real content of the game isn't the few raid encounters. it's the massive world used during the "grind" you hate so much. If you are so happy with THJ, why are you looking at the 2025 roadmap for EQ anyway? PS. Speaking of weird , your English gives me nostalgia from grade school.

I honestly don't care what ruleset they release, I just like starting fresh with an EQ playerbase.. I'm thinking there's a lot of my demographic :) .. Though personally, kinda hoping there isnt any random loot/tower.. kinda defeats the purpose of EverQuest
