High Keep has always been a favorite of mine going back to 2000.

I have to put something strait here. Rogue pick pocket is a different table. This means it has nothing to do with the drops you get. This was a myth from way back. And ( I forget thier name, the game developers) said no, rogue pick pocket has nothing to do with the drops. Each mob has kill drops and pick pocket drops. EQ put this out early in the game. It was in the batch notes in 2001 or maybe it was early 2002.

Watching this to reflect on days of old. Even though this is super recent compared to when I used to play, I love how this video just pushes you right into how these zones were and what was exciting about them. Highkeep was my life back in 2001 or so, so it's amazing to see this is still meaningful in 2014.

i am not an everquest professional player but i have been playing for a year now and to do xp you have to do the fights against the enemies in blue? or yellow to get XP?

You have been playing for a year and don't know how the con system works?? How do you survive? The con system changes (slightly) depending on your lvl, technically you can get exp from anything from dark green to red. Anything other than mobs WAY WAY below your lvl (low green).

@@rdizzy1 ok super thank you my homie ! i Survive in reality , being extremely careful, and staying close to Qyenos I did my leveling in the hills of Qyenos near the small inn and if I need to sell I have the city of qyenos not far away! but fortunately I had a brave very brave player and experiminted who gave me 2/3 a hand from time to time ( sorry for my english i am french )

like the vids, love it though when rogues get told not use the skills that were given to them, its like saying, hey you other classes, uhh you can't use any skills you have. no taunt, forage, bindwounds, sneak, etc.....use what was given to you?

It's called the "play nice" or honestly just "common sense" policy. While I do get what your trying to say, there is value in maintaining rules that keep the server/player-base healthy. Sure CAN you pickpocket all the mobs another group is killing? Yeah. Does that mean you SHOULD? No that's lame. Just pickpocket mobs that aren't being farmed by a group and everybody wins. They don't get mad and you get to do what you wanna do... When designing a game it's hard to understand the repercussions or fully make things that makes everyone happy. Especially EQ being a new frontier for that kind of 3D MMORRPG. There were bound to be some things that needed to be changed/accepted by the people who are playing the game, either for better or worse. TL:DR No don't pickpocket other groups. It's isn't the same as not taunting enemies......

@@GoogleUsedToLetThisNameBeLong The developers foresaw this problem and their solution was that the social nature of the game would make for a bad reputation for such people so there'd be a tradeoff. This is kind of a training wheels moment by the p99 GM that you would not have seen on live. I understand their decision but it's against the original spirit of the game - pushing the player community to act as its own police.
