EverQuest New TLP's Announced! 2024!

With Mischief and Aradune being the two most popular server rulesets from their opening day to today, this was an easy enough choice to make for such a celebratory year. So, without further ado, our new TLP servers are Tormax, a Traditional Time-Locked Progression server and Teek, a Random Loot Free-Trade Time-Locked Progression Server. Both will have Relaxed True-Box, starting with the traditional True-Box rules and relaxing the True-Box rules further over time. Both servers will start with the Ruins of Kunark unlocked with expansion unlocks then happening at a standard cadence. Both will launch on Wednesday, May 22, 2024!
That’s not all either. This year we're introducing a name reservation system that will launch on April 24. Those characters with 200 days or more played time will be the first with the opportunity to reserve their character name on these servers. As we get closer to launch, the played time restriction will lower for the next round and so forth. So be sure to get in those hours if you want to be in the first round to reserve your name on the new servers!

For 25 year Anniversary the rule sets are kind of lame, don't get me wrong I like Mischief 2.0 but I really think they should have gone bigger

Tormax won't need the 2-3 box maximum like Aradune. The main reason people want that is to get rid of the krono farmers from China. Those will all be on Teek. Tormax will be fine. With a low population it will feel more like classic did. The TLP's all have several times more people on them then we did back in classic anyway.

The Aradune server was a failed experiment. It was supposed to be a unique ruleset but ended up a standard TLP ruleset after the 1st month because DBG doesn't give 2 sh*ts if people cheat.

Relaxed truebox = 3 clients on a single PC. Zaide is predicting that Truebox will be removed in OoW which means unlimited clients per PC.

Everyone is tired of the standard expansion unlock cadence and traditional TLP. Game takes 8 years to get to live as it is now, and if this server makes it then it will be closer to 10 years with live getting yearly expansions.

So I guess I'm playing Teek *sigh*. I really wanted Mischief with some classic+ ideas thrown in; like Plane of Knowledge and Bazaar (Not Planes of Power) open at the start, some quality of life changes, Boxxing completely banned and anyone caught boxxing or using boxxing software to circumvent the rules would be perma banned, No Krono, etc. But I can't always get what I want.

I actually really love level 50 classic, Even as the arguable worst class for that period, Ranger! I was full BIS on Yelinak. I would go down into Guk, and all over, to solo farm, even managed to 1v1 the Ghoul Lord and Arch Magus, breaking the camp etc. completely by myself!.. Farmed a solid 20 Krono lmao. But it's all good, this will be a different experience and force me outside my comfort zone, and Random Loot is mad fun!

I think the best TLP rules they could make is lanch with TSS relax truebox x3 per comp, and freetrade 1month per expansion and raids drop x4 loot and raidlockouts are only 2days , basicly Disney land to get people to play threw EQs history and not get stuck in a classic - PoP reroll fiesta 😛
