This new player tutorial shows how you can level up and farm random loot in Karnor's Castle in your low 40's on the TEEK TLP server in 2024. Kunark had the best Dungeon design that I have experienced. Velious was also good but a bit hit or miss. I'd say Old Sebilis is peak EQ in that regard. Please disagree...

I agree 100%. Old Sebilis was the peak and they never got close after that. Velious didn't turn out so well for group dungeons, but was good for raids zones.

100% agree on both Kunark for groups and Sebilis. Velious was much more raid oriented.

I absolutely loved the depth of lore in the Luclin zones, especially hunting Zevfeer when running between Katta and Sanctus Seru. God, I miss the old zone lore and quests. Nowadays it's nothing but grinding group/raid currency. 🤦‍♂️

mischief had a 4 level difference not a 2 but was in chunks like 31 to 35 then 36 to 40 41 to 45 46 to 50 and so on. I dont know if teek is seperated into chunks also but ti seems to be seperated into 4 level chunks again I never got a single item that drops off a mob above 55 in crypt. Best area to get best loot is bridge/Koro 6 mobs that can drop 56+ items have received a lot of fungi items there. I won 2 tunics and a staff. and never got anything below a level 56 off of those mobs so pretty sure its still in chunks so need to kill a lvl 56+ to get a fungi. So although you may have several named there they are spread out and best you can probably hope for is a cobalt wrist or a ifs. Heirophant cloak is pretty much worthless along with a lot of other gear because of tower gear. So Kaesora to go for CoS Froglok King to try and get GEBS or Chardok Kennels O/U or Koro to get fungi are the only real spots that would drop anything worth while.

When you look at the mob placements and the zone design, you can see how it was designed to be the biggest train station in the game right up there with Blackburrow. Some of the most epic trains I can remember came in Karnors. Since there's always a low 40's group in front, you get players trying to run to the zone all the way back from the hand room, which causes epic chain reaction trains. If people could see what it looks like on the map as it's developing, they would be very impressed and have a lot more respect for Karnor's :)

What mod shows the movement of named mobs on map? My brewall doesnt do that.

It is Redguides MQ2, but it won't work on the TLP servers.

As someone who didn't play during this time. What would be the best race/class to start with?

If you like playing a monk, this is the best time to start an Iksar monk because we're starting in Kunark. If you want a class that's always needed in groups, a Cleric or Iksar Shaman are good choices. The Iksar monk and shaman are the two classes and races that are unique to Kunark. What class did you play in the past?

@@doctornachoz8099 i currently play an iksar bst on BB server. He's level 116. I started in 01. my first char was a high elf enchanter but i didnt get him but to level 8 lol

Ahh. Then you should definitely roll an Iksar monk or Iksar shaman depending on if you want to play support or DPS. I like the monk because it will be top DPS for a LONG time. The Shaman will never have a problem getting groups, so both are great choices.

Would play, but every other person is a bot run by MQ2. They inflate the prices of everything and take all the fun out of the game.
