Turning off mouse repeat in the IB42 toggles is pretty key, otherwise when you broadcast your mouse actions will also be broadcast. I don''t have an MMO mouse to test with, but the key presses probably just emulate the NUM + X so turning off mouse repeat likely doesn't impact it. Broadcasting with this default setup from your main tank seems tricky, because you want the action hotkeys to be received, but you don't want all of your team repeating your arrow keys / mouse movement for targeting, etc -- would seem wise to limit the broadcasting to ONLY the hotkey mappings right?

I know it's dangerous - but when you have the default UI (or base your ui on all toons on one template) and after clicking the "invite to group" macro, you can turn on the ISBoxer repeater and then click "follow" on all toons and get them all in group at once. 8 out of 10 times it's great - the other two times I forget to turn the repeater off or missclick

Yeah I probably should do that, i've been slowing moving all my characters to the same template. At this point it is just habit. I only do it once per session most of the time.

Great work and very detailed, thank you. I have a question. I have followed your instructions to the letter but my follow does not work, all the chars go off in the direction they happen to be pointing in at the time! I have looked on the EQ key list and Alt F is for friend window toggle. Invite/follow is Ctrl I, and Use Combat ability is Ctrl 1. As my group now runs in any direction and never with my main its is useless. Any ideas or suggestions please?

I might have missed a step but did you create a button on any hotbar with a /follow macro? that button needs a hotkey assigned to it (options menu) of control + 1, then when you press alt f isboxer should send control + 1 to each character triggering that button. ISboxer should overwrite the friends window if everything is working correctly. In ISboxer when you do the character wizard on the last step where you pick the broadcast key stuff at the end on the bottom of the page there should be options to assign Follow/Assist for ISB and in game. Make sure those are set to the correct alt f and control 1 and it should work. If not ping me on discord and ill send a screenshot.

I remember in stream constantly having to tell people that I was not botting using the isbox software lol It just allows you to interact with the other windows without switching to them. You still manually control them. Good vid bud! I'm sure you know about keymaps and the way to have them auto follow using that?

@@hammackj you didn't forget, but there a super complex way of doing it too that let's you drive with different toons on the fly without having to set up 400 socials lol

Yeah I never got that method to work where it will do target the first character and follow with just /follow. I prefer to hardcode it, if my tanks dead group is probably fucked anyway.

Wow that looks like more trouble then it's worth I think I will try 3 boxing with 3 mercs maybe a clr and 2 rog mercs would be nice if the wiz Merc could evac the group if things got to hot 😆

IMO A trio is the ideal number of characters to box on live servers with mercs. Allows you to add real players and focus more on the 3 characters. I went with 6 for this series because the mercs pretty much do all the work until 70.

I set up the auto follow social that you showed and I have a problem. I’ve discovered that /slash commands are executing commands for the other character in my duo. For example when. I type a command to /doability 1 on the shaman it causes the monk in the group to feign death and when I’m on the monk character and I try /doability 1 it casts a heal for the shaman. Any idea what is happening?

So the auto follow social gives an error “you have to target someone to follow” I guess because the commands are working for the other character the /target command doesn’t work? It seems like there is something that is actually working as intended but I’d like to be able to build the socials and just alt+tab back and forth since I only have two

you need the pause /pause 5, /target

I am a bit confused, you build the social macros on the character you want to do the action, ISBoxer just repeats the same key to all windows.

I used to box 6 years ago for a decade or so on eq2.. I'm thinking about returning but have no f'n idea how I had everything set up lol

Start slowly, id say 3 box first using mercs then fill in what you need.

@@hammackj the other five windows can get broadcast to spamm keys without affecting your current main window without spamming your keys? Because I remember when I used to do it I would constantly press a control button that spammed thier hot keys manually but if there is a more efficient way to broadcast without manually constantly spamming the control key then that would be ideal, on the same computer that is and not a separate computer

I did pretty much the same thing in EQ2 for setting it up. You should be fine, Just pick EQ2 when doing the wizard.

ISBoxer is 50$ a year. You can do 2-3 Characters just alt tabbing but after 2 characters it becomes a pain. The benefit of ISBoxer is that it fits the rules of 1 keystroke = 1 action and does not do any automation like other things.
