Everquest ISBoxer Tutorial Part 1

This is part 1 of a series where I do a tutorial on how to set up ISBoxer and Innerspace to work in Everquest. This is the first video in the series and will go through the basics of getting your characters set up in ISBoxer itself. I also go into the quick start wizard in ISBoxer and the settings I use and recommend.
I also show how to set up a hotkey in ISBoxer for inviting your whole group in game, and also have them auto follow the leader. I then give examples in game on how to set up the social macro's for inviting the group, how to get your box characters to accept the invite with the same button press, so only having to press it once. Next I show how to set up the auto follow social hotkey.

Thanks for this intro guide, allowed me to review my setup and adjust some options. Guides of this type are always welcome and a needed support for the community so please continue. If you have Heroics available, please use them for 85 starts as lowbies are like grinding teeth.....unless you enjoy the levelling aspect. Epics guides would be great also. I'm very happy you found it helpful! I will continue and yeah after 20 years I am over the leveling aspect , it's fun with new classes but this group are all classes I am familiar with. So for the next video I will have made them all heroic characters. I definitely plan on doing at least epic 1.5 and epic 2.0 guides for each of the 6 classes I will be playing. Haven't decided on Epic 1.0's yet as with the AA you get a AA rez and honestly though they look cool they are a major time sink. Though to be fair on a normal server it won't be as bad. I'll think about it but let me know if you want the epic 1.0's. Chloe is adorable and thanks for watching, we both truly appreciate it! I was about ready to give up on ISBoxer when I stumbled across your guides. It really helps to see someone set all of this up in EQ. In one of your videos you said you were going to do one to show how to set up a casting click bar. Do you think you might still do that?

Hey Rex, thankful for this video!!! Awesome job. I got mine up and running and now it's easy to me. Quick question though, mine always goes away every time I log in. Is there any way to make it keep the viewers in my main toon's screen when I login?

If you go into the ISBoxer GUI which is where you set up the viewers you can put them where you want and then click save and save them tto the auto list and if you have them set up in ISBoxer to a hotkey you can bring it up or close it with that hotkey when you want.

thanks for making these videos and helping. but with that said im lost lol. not saying much but i cant seem to get my 3box to work unless i broadcast my tank even with all hotkeys and isboxer keys all set up the same. i know im doing something wrong so if you could help that would be awesome. thanks. ( really tied of wiping my group cause of my stupidity)

Ok no problem. First thing I would check is to make sure your character set and all your characters are in the bottom left section of the custom hotkeys section under key maps. That's where I always put my hotkeys for my characters. Next I would make sure that each hotkey is assigned it's own hotkey that triggers it when pressed, it will say it off to the right if it does and what it is. Also make sure the hotkey that is in step 1 matches the hotkey for that action or macro in Everquest. If this doesn't make sense or doesn't help feel free to drop by my discord and I can help you personally if you upload some screen shots of your isboxer toolkit

Great guide. Only question is, How do you stop auto follow?

Great question. What i do is I turn on broadcast and then turn left and right and that breaks auto follow then just turn broadcast off

I added a second button to my left, right strafe and backwards buttons on all of my instances. I have a menu on screen on my main for follow and another for unfollow. Unfollow broadcasts the key map to all of the instances. So one guy strafes left. One right and one backwards. So I click follow and a social fires /follow to the driver and unfollow sends control d to everyone. So when I hit unfollow everyone is spread out. I have it set to it keeps the button pressed as long as I hold it. So I can position my group without touching anyone’s instance.

When I go to export to Inner Space it comes up with an Application Compatibility window starting that "some application compatibility flags prevent inner space from operating correctly and in many cases will cause crashes." The flag is HIGHDPIAWARE.

I would check out the ISBoxer forum, there is a post there where it talks about common issues and if that doesn't help you can post the problem on the EQ section. I wish I could be more help but even though I could try they are probably better suited to help you faster.

Do I did everything u said this is my first time using isboxer. I loaded eq threw innerspace when I click my invite hot key nothing happens do I need to patch or have log on what am I missing

Without seeing what's it's doing I obviously can't be sure, but I would double check everything in isboxer, and also double check your macro's and settings in Everquest also to make sure there isn't any conflict. How do you break auto follow for your party?

Hi Jeff. You turn on the broadcast key and then hit your turn left or turn right key then turn off broadcast. The turning breaks the auto follow

I have never understood why people think boxing 2-6 characters is fun rather than just making A character and getting into groups with people and having FUN. if you want solo with 4 toons, why play at all, you may as well just play a single player game....

I can understand that point of view. I can't speak for all games but for EverQuest on the established modern servers population is a huge problem. Finding non boxing people to group with is a challenge. Also the more established guilds on those servers tend to have cliques. If you aren't in it you won't be grouping with them ever.
