You can run this game on a toaster. I have like 3 of the worst lap tops ever when a new LTP hits. and they all get thrust back into service.

So as of the 64 bit client, I'm maxing out my ram easily boxing on one pc. Basically 1.2gs per toon. Getting more ram but figured I'd ask if you ran into this. Turning down settings seems to make minimal difference. Anyway thanks for the content.

I haven't really looked honestly, I only play on TrueBox servers so I run one per pc and even the mini pcs have 8gb of ram my main systems have 32gb or more, I think when I used to run 18 off one pc each one used about 500mb with lowest settings possible and all models turned off. You might be able to find something like this: everquest.fanra.info/wiki/Graphics_and_performance_settings_guide to tweak the game, I'm not sure how many you're trying to play off one PC but RAM is really cheap these days unless its the newest DDR5 so it might be worth getting more.

@@vanman2099 it is, you have to edit the EverQuest ini file to enable it. If you do a search for EverQuest stick figures should fine instructions

I just wish they would have mercs of every class that they already have NPC AI for. That, and: let me have 5 mercs if I'm on an old legacy server that doesn't have a high population, so I can still run a full group without having to do 3rd party software or have 6 computers

You know what would be neat is dynamic merc unlocking, where the less people logged into a server the more mercs you get access too hah. But you're spot on, Mercs should be released in classic at least 1 per.

Thanks for your EQ content Thomas! Quick question as I'm trying to map out/get the appropriate Multi-Box setup (returning player). The 4k PIP screen is that your main driver character screen? Or is your dual screen setup where you actually control your main character and the other 4 in the group off on the big screen? I think having a program to enable 1 mouse and keyboard vs one for each PC makes things easy, however having to move your mouse all the way to the right on your setup to select macros or movement seems hectic/slow. Can you shed some light on on how you actually go about making this efficient when you are ingame? Also curious of your opinion on Oakwynd, my goal is to simply experience content I missed backed in the day (hence why im looking into boxing) and this server seems like the best route!

This was a summarized video on the hardware I made one with my setup that's older here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJenintuqa6Uobs I use something like synergy or multiplicity (not legal) that passes keystrokes through multiple computers, the way I typically play is i have a 6 screen setup in the middle and down the center of that is a dual screen system that's on it's own keyboard and mouse, the dual screens are the very center ones stacked on top of each other. Then to my left will be 2 screens then a quad screen PiP that's 6 on my left and the same setup is 6 to the right, both my left and right side setups use synergy or multiplicity with one keyboard to control 6. The reason I have separate ones is because I take similar class types (casters/melee) and put say melee left side, casters right side, then I make similar social keys on each ones so say on the caster side I make a macro that casts a nuke, I may drag that macro on each screen to the #1 hotkey, so when I press #1 on the keyboard to the right, all of the casters that have something in the #1 hotkey spot will run that macro, on the left side say for melee, it would be /assist on a hotkey so I would put /assist macro say in the #1 spot on all 6 to the left and I press #1 on the keyboard on the left side all six would assist, if you don't want them to run anything you leave the hotkey spot blank so say my cleric might not nuke so his #1 might be empty and #2 could be a fast heal which maybe only the clerics or healers have #3 could be a slow which maybe shamsn / enchanters have something etc. If you don't use synergy or multiplicity, then you're looking at individual small keyboards for each PC and then it looks like you're a kung fu master slapping all the hotkeys during a fight back and forth (done this before). If you click the macroquest link above in the description that will bring you to redguides, you can somewhat get macroquest to help you out but it's not supported on TLP and you have to reload it everytime you zone which can be a pain, but redguides is working on a legal piece of software that will join all your characters to a chat and you can type in commands there and it will run socials off your other characters joined to the same account so from one screen you can issue commands to your other characters, so like pressing a hotkey on your computer would be like pressing it on another computer. It's neat stuff. It depends if you're here to play "legit" or if you want to just make life easy and experience content. Oakwynd is the newest server, the rules are pretty plain and simple, they have encounter locking which prevents a lot of training and some bonuses, if you need to start that far back that's where I'd go. If you're trying to experience eq like it was back in the day try P99, if you're further ahead in expansions you want to do, Mischief is by far the best ruleset for casual and players needing to catch up. Multiplicity has sent many of my toons to their death it is to quirky for me. I am old school mouse and keyboard for every toon and in game macros unles on a non truebox server then I use my desk top and tile the monitors.

no you cannot. you need to reverse engineer it or modify your own from the source. there are a few copies out there but youre going to pay a lot

I finally got bored enough to try it out. Only had to comment out a single line to remove the server check. Only playing 2 toons so don't really care if I get banned.

You can for sure play 2 and connect them with multiplicity or autofire game pads if that's what you're asking.

@@Zodemus have you tried p99 at all? They are pretty hardcore on stopping boxers, there'd probably be like two EQ servers without some form of boxing

I play on Live Servers and those boxing while at the keyboard doesn’t bother me. On the other hand, the AFK boxers using 3rd party software to automate it all is a different story.
