Eversolo just released a new firmware update that includes a fix so that all or most USB CD/DVD readers can play & rip CDs. My Samsung reader didn't work consistently until a few days ago.

No idea about the software used, but the album art and tagging is done on network. But it is not 100% there yet, some albums do not get Album Art or tags.

Outstanding !!! Looks like the ripping software is built in to the streamer ! How long does it take on average to RIP one CD ? How good a job does it handle META-DATA (e.g. album title, track title, artists etc) ?

It takes around 3_7 minutes depending upon the number of tracks. Meta data is handled via network, and its fine. Some CDs did not match it

Can you rip sacd and dvd audio to the eversolo. I read somewhere that you can play multichannel through hdmi. Was wondering if they had to be ripped with specific software

I own a DMP A6 and I also added a 970 Evo Plus, 512 GB though...However, I formatted the drive in eversolo device and it would NOT recognize it, firmware 1.1.56, since than it looks they addressed the issue with 1.1.75 and I hope it is ok now. I did not try again as I formatted the drive in my PC and moved it into eversolo, so... I hope they fixed it. Otherwise the eversolo is a brilliant streamer/dac

Nice video mate, I just received my DMP-A6 as a replacement of my Node and after getting it to work with my phone. After powering off the unit, I was surprised I couldn't power on again via app! Is that rookie error?

You cannot power it on via app, let it run in standby mode. Has a nice screensave for sometime before the screen blacks out. This is miles ahead from Node, hope you enjoy using it too.

How is the installed SSD performing? I have considered using the 970 EVO Plus, but benchmark tests are showing it tends to heat up and people are recommending to use a radiator, which probably will not fit in the Eversolo. On the other hand I do not assume reading and writing audio files should be that demanding on the SSD. What do you think?

I have copied files over 1.5 TB to my SSD from NAS. It took around 15-18hours, the unit got warm but never shut down or gave me problems. I am impressed by the performance.

There are many original CDs that Eversolo can’t retrieve information and also don’t play with Apple CD devise for Mac Book Pro. I asked them and I am waiting for their comments yet !

Have you tried putting it in MultiMedia Mode? some drives need this to be able to play from there (Sometimes you just have to press the eject button for a few seconds to activate it) Hope it helps

The USB input only supplies 1.2A a direct connection without secondary power to the drive may be an issue. My Apple and Dell both draw 1.6A.

I have used a CD Drive with 2 inputs for power, but Eversolo couldn't recognise the CD at all. Single usb worked better.

I bought the Master Edition about 3 weeks ago. Problem recognising SSD (Samsung EVO 970), keeps dropping connection. Managed to rip 4 cds and the unit would not recognise cd player (Rioddas External CD Drive, USB 3.0 Portable CD/Dvd ). Tried anothe cd player (Hitachi-LG GP60 External DVD Drive) and it was not recognised either, display started to flash on and off. Sent it back to retailer who contacted Eversolo who said there is a problem with the power supply to cd and ssd at the same time. They think they can fix it with a firmware update. Still waiting for that. I updated the system when I received it 3 weeks ago.

Make sure you inserted the SSD properly, I didn’t have any trouble ripping multiple CDs. Unit never went into loop.

I have had exactly the same problem, the display flashes on and off this resets my album file amongst others back to the start so can't play what I want. The ripper works but refused a lot of cds ,the album art is also missing on a few cds. I had my eversolo replaced but have now got the same problems, i have the latest firmware edition but this has not changed the performance. The loop now stays on sporadically , it's all so frustrating , I am sure this is more common than a lot of people think. I would be very grateful for some possible solutions, I don't have any streaming issues at all.

I don't have an update on my previous comment. I returned the dmp and was fully refunded. Still waiting for information on the next firmware update. I am however surprised that some stay they have had no problems with this whatsoever. Eversolo say they have recognized the problem as power related and will correct it through fm update. Still waiting.

yes, easily via WiFi. You can do it from a broserr on Pc or laptop. EverSolo acts as a NAS too
