Good energy tips. I got started in this game two days ago and I also got some good tips for nubs from what I learned in my first runs. Don't save your light missiles. Any time you feel that you might take hull damage, fire ze missiles - a much better resource to spend than your health. Ore is good for making missiles which are good for killing things faster which means more health left. Corrosion missiles are more costly to craft but one-shot okkar fighters early on (through their big shield). Very useful. If you keep forgetting to use that second active device you have, maybe stick to one until you get the hang of managing its cooldown to maximum effect. Scrap all items you don't pick up NOT ONLY for resources but also because leaving the item marker behind is a mistake with the somewhat poor UI in this game. Collisions HURT. Your drones are different from other consumables. They follow you around and remain useful until they die. Enemies focus them frequently buying you time to kill them for free. The Beam Laser is probably the best weapon in the game stats- and usability wise (I haven't even seen them all but unless there is a better beam, I'm betting on it: hitscan, good damage to shield and hull, super easy to hit, good range). Get range upgrades for cheese. Don't get cocky with the energy use, kid. Damaged systems are THE WORST.

Flak cannon soo good. But rare. Use shield breaker and gatling/beam if you got 2nd missile slot.

Just started playing this beautiful, wonderful game. I had a real hard time at the start because of the controls! So if you are finding it tricky to get into this game, it might be your control scheme as the default one was bonkers for me. It took over an hour of messing around to find the right setup as there are so many controls and not so many buttons. I found it really confusing to hover up and down using the Left stick when it feels like it should be thrust. Here the perfect controller scheme that works for me (Xbox 360 controller): Thrust - left stick up Reverse - left stick down Strafe - left stick left + right Boost - left trigger Fire primary weapon - right trigger Hover up - left shoulder button + left stick up Hover down - left shoulder button + left stick down Roll - right bumper + left stick left / right Target enemy - left stick button Fire secondary - right stick button Next primary weapon - B Next secondary weapon - Y Next consumable - X Next item - A Use consumable - D pad left Use item - D pad right Change camera - D pad up Freelook - D pad down

@@ZyklonBeast12 Hey, glad to help. I actually changed and improved my controller scheme again when Everspace 2 came out. It works well on Everspace as well. Basically I've put the Hover up and Hover down controls on the thumbstick click buttons. I think it only works on the newer Xbox controllers, where you can remap the trigger buttons. I've saved a re-map account for Everspace on my Xbox Series X controller. It's much more comfortable to play this way. Takes a day or two to get dialled in though. Here's the scheme: Thrust - left stick up Reverse - left stick down Strafe - left stick left + right Boost - left trigger Fire primary weapon - right trigger Hover up - left thumbstick click Hover down - right thumbstick click Roll - left bumper + right thumstick Target enemy - left bumper Fire secondary - right bumper Next primary weapon - B Next secondary weapon - Y Next consumable - X Next item - A Use consumable - D pad left Use item - D pad right Change camera - D pad up Freelook - D pad down It was something like that, I'm going off my memory. The main thing was having Boost on the left trigger and Hover up and down on the Thumb sticks. In that way I can fly and manuever fully without taking my thumbs off the thumb sticks. The D-pad buttons and A/B/X/Y buttons can be switched out to your preference. Good Luck : )

I got this game a while back during the 95% off sale for the release of everspace 2, and I just kept dying over and over again. There is so much stuff in this game that it doesn't teach you, with no pacing as to what to learn first. This guide is extremely helpful.

This game looks wild. I never knew about it until yesterday, and now I've watched loads of videos about it. Just purchased in the sale for my Series X, and I'm really looking forward to starting it soon, maybe this evening. I'm just closing in on 300K Gamerscore in the next few days, then will stop for a good few months and just enjoy this and a few others ie Doom64/1/2. Good tips but all you explained was the energy. Yes i know energy is really important but i can't even evade from combat to use my energy at all. There wasn't any tips about movement, strategy and some other things.

I'm late to Everspace (got it on sale for PS4) & I kept dying over & over. I went in playing the game like it's Ace Combat in Space & like it's Colony Wars for the PS4.🤣 Dude, you saved me from giving up on the game when you showed me how to save energy & how to approach fighting the enemies. As much as I love Star Citizen 3.2 2018 , I wish they could take aspects from THIS game and add them in... Visually THIS is jaw dropping..it's more arcade yeah, but I LOVE the SHOOTING effects...that to be honest make SC look like 1997. The lasers, energy weapons, explosions and galaxies...god even the interesting space debris here is so freeking NICE !!!!.. The recent expansions (that came out a few years after this video was made also add so much more to the game..check it out). Cheers for the video Squid!!!, you rock man!.

i am playing chorus and although its movement is limited compared to Everspace and a much shorter game with nowhere near the depth of this one, its more my thing this is more of an RPG than a space game and there is too much going on,at a slow pace. i will definitly check it out after CHORUS but right now i am enjoying the exitement and fun of CHORUS.

I play on PS4, and I wish my item icons on screen were more yellowish like this instead of the blue/green color that blends in the background. I can't find anything unless it is right in front of me, and colorblind mode is worse!

I bought the game for the switch and its very hard to aim when the enemy keeps circling around you, I’m playing on easy and couldn’t get past sector 3 yet. But I unlocked all of the ships and rly like the small and fast one with stealth :)

Thanks for the tips, I haven't been doing well on managing energy, which I now understand is very important.. If you craft new weapons, or upgrade your current ones, do you get to keep them for future runs? There's not a lot of you get to keep this, but not this when you die..

You are welcome, nop you can't keep any items or weapons for your next runs but you can craft them again if you have the materials, if you have found the blueprint already even on a previous run.

that is how the game is. Use the money you have earned to unlock perks and become stronger in that way.

@@maxtronic55 yes he thinks that cause the two awfull accents that are very characteristic is indian and greek,but greek is much more clear cause our language is a firstborn language,much more rich language than almost every language in the world.its difficult to learn to speak greek and not english and there is a good reason for this and for our accent in eng...
