We looked two leagues below NF. Aimless, clueless, static, unable to string more than 4 passes together before we lose the ball, favourite pass is back to Pickford, never troubled their goalkeeper. Dull and boring. Heading towards relegation. Agree, Baz, Patterson made a difference. I wish he had come on earlier. Need a new coaching team NOW.

I think he is a good defender generally. He's poor on the ball and going forward. I didn't see the game today but he defended well in previous 3 games. I think he would fit well on the left side of a back 3 with Tark and Branthwaite. You could play McNeill or Harrison at Left Wing Back with Patterson on Right. He isn't going to be LB in a back 4 for an improved everton squad

​@step9624 so who plays LB then? We don't have one in the squad apart from Myko. Young has been very poor on left side and afaik neither Harrison or McNeil have ever played FB. The two fb positions are a big problem. I think it's part of why we set up the way we do. They don't have the legs or mentality to get up and down the pitch the way modern full backs are supposed to. That's why we are so easy to score against on counter.

We were miles ahead of these and now they're e second with the same manager. Because their manager is capable of more and they've recruited cleverly our manager can't play anything other than negative parasite football because that's all he was as a player at a poor standard get rid or our standards will never be raised. Biggest difference between the 2 teams is their players believe in their manager ours don't ponderous in the final third. Harrison Doucoure Mykolenko in particular are simply not good enough.

Gets picked to play.. Again.. Harrison, nevermind just when getting a good opportunity to score, clearly playing without any real confidence.. Gets picked to play.. Again.. We NEED to at least play a bit more offensively, have the ball more, and to try to actually WIN A GAME OF FOOTBALL (weird, hey?).. Our players are - quite evidently - not set up, or instructed and 'coached' to play that way.. Again.. For me, then: Dyche Out.. As in Sean Dyche.. GET.. OUT!!.. Lindstrom and Patterson should be starting on the right every week in my opinion (even though neither are brilliant). Young has been playing well lately, but it's in relative terms to his age/ability. He's too old, slow and gets targeted every week. Even when he does ok. It's sad to say, since he's a good professional, but he should be a back up really. And we might as well terminate Jack Harrison's loan deal because nobody can tell me that Roman Dixon couldn't do more than what he's doing on that right hand side... And yes I know Dixon is a fullback, but Coleman played at RW for a while before moving to RB and it did him the world of good. Never mind the fact he's rapid. The likes of Doucoure and DCL need selling in January so we don't lose them for nothing. Then as much as I agree we should be doing better, we'll be fighting yet again. A really sad send off to Goodison Park. I just wish we'd get a new manager before the next game and try to change things in 2025. Someone who actually understands this club and what it means to wear the blue shirt. NSNO
