I’m here in February 2021 Myles Garrett was selected first overall in the 2017 draft by the Cleveland Browns. He is still there and went with them to the divisional round in 2021. He was defensive player of the year runner up and a pro bowler as well. Baker Mayfield was also selected by the Browns in the 2018 NFL draft. Unbelievably, he completed the impossible task of taking the Browns to the playoffs and winning one of the games. A task that hadn’t been done in 20+ years. This took incredible talent to get the Browns off their feet. Kyler Murray was selected in the 2019 draft by the Cardinals. After a bad season, in 2020 he brought them to an 8-8 record and was even in the MVP conversation. Murray was an incredible athlete and played lights out. Joe Burrow was drafted by the Bengals in 2020. He had an incredible rookie season and played lights out. If it weren’t for his ACL tear, he would’ve been well on track to break all the rookie passing records that Justin Herbert broke a few months later. Easily would’ve been rookie of the year. Finally, Trevor Lawrence is very soon to be drafted by the Jaguars in the 2021 nfl draft. The Jaguars are coming off of a 1-15 season (losing the last 15) and are in dire need of a QB.

I really appreciate the teams that draft a defensive player first overall or an offensive player that’s not a quarterback. Funny how a year can change things. It's been just one season since this was published but opinions on the last two choices in this video are now pretty much completely reversed. Winston turned a horrible offense into one of the better offense and Eric Fisher is up there with the other Chiefs OLinemen as the league's best, but for now, Newton is the best because he has the ring.
