The Collingwood logo looks more like Flipper the dolphin. It needs stripes or bust. I did see one design once (may have been from you), which had the Collingwood colours on the Eagles jumper design. It looked superb. Once again it will never happen, but I was surprise how striking that white with black wings and black shorts looked.

Agree - the Collingwood design is a bust. It also looks more like a pigeon than a Magpie. Disappointed when I saw it.

@@basicaccounting1644 If Collingwood or Hawthorn it has to be stripes. Pretty much the same for North. If Eagles then wings. Swans a V. Ess and Rich sashes. Bullies Crows and Geelong vertical stripes. You can play around with it for sure. But the iconic symbols should basically remain.

Here is another idea for you. If AFL clubs were to include another colour to their jumper, then what would it be? Eagles orange, Collingwood silver... and so on. Freo red and green! (don't get me started). You can also include darker and lighter shades. Like Carlton, light blue... Sydney pink... Adelaide royal blue or lemon. Tigers orange. Hawks black or varying shades of brown. Melb royal blue. Essendon??? white? Giants? Suns sea green? mmm. Geelong light blue... North green or lighter blue. It has to make a sense for the team or is required as a clear alternative strip or just looks good.

Cats is an interesting strip. I reckon it needs stripes in some way. Whether it be light blue or white... The cat head a bit too big. But for sure if they had a lighter blue, then they would all the time be able to wear navy or light blue shorts. They wouldn't wear white shorts except for absolute exceptions. the cats jumper could have some stripes at top and bottom before morphing into a cat's head.

I like the Carlton and GWS jumpers altough I think the CFC monogram would look better smaller and more centered and the big G would look better in the middle. But I think you have found the best secondary blue for Carlton. Well done mate.

Giants G is interesting. They need to drop the GWS and greater definitely. I reckon they need to embrace the darker grey more. They can be orange, dark grey and white. Then mix the jumpers between colours. Only wear black when really necessary. I thought the darker grey was trendy and its unique. It looks good in the merchandise.

I do like this jumper more than their current crusader flag, which always seems out of balance with the red and black panels not quite working. Certainly this is a jumper they could wear as a clash jumper if they wanted to remove white. It would be good for you to do a Saints jumper with a red cross and red at the back. they could really wear it as an alternative jumper with red shorts. There wouldn't be the white that can clash with other jumpers. Would be ideal against Port, Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon etc.

@@mattn1 I think the alternative jumpers always need to be either mostly red or mostly white. Red shorts works well. The key is work out what teams its an alternative to. It sounds like a lot of Saints fans aren't in love with their vertical panel jumper. I might be shouted down. But that's what I reckon. Crusader cross may one day be shouted down by the political correctness crusaders. Though Saint Kilda actually is a name of a boat. But we have EPL teams in England being forced to remove boats from their logos because they're alleging that the ships took slaves and or traded in products from colonies. Anyway, my point is that one day someone somewhere will be offended. What to do? Ignore them I reckon.

This should be one of Brisbane's clash jumpers. But wear it with blue shorts too. It wouldn't clash as much with Suns, Swans or Giants etc. Have mostly blue at the back. If they wore this with blue shorts then you wouldn't get other teams having to wear their clash jumper as much. Win win. Regardless this is a darn good strip so Brizzy could sell a truck load of jumpers.

For me, its stupid that the tigers don't wear stripes. After all they are tigers! But some genius 100 years ago decided to put a sash on them, no doubt worried that they'd look too much like a bumble bee, so sash it is.

Swans need to have the Opera house on the jumper really now. More important than the Swan. I'd be faschinated if they experimented with a light pink with a darker red jumper for AFLW or occasionally at home. You'd have to trial it first for sure. But if any fan base will embrace the pink on the jumper it will be Sydney fans. No team wears pink currently. And would only be needed for rare clashes and other theme rounds like the Flamingo rounds or furs and feathers round or indigenous round or PRIDE round!

For the Brisbane one, I reckon get rid of the outline for the main redesign as the gold already stands out. Also reduce the size of the lion to where it can cover the whole front of the jersey similar to the 2010-14 jersey we had. Otherwise, good job!

I think its time as a club, (Hawthorn) we ditch the stripes and even consider using a hawk on the jumper. Im in love with last years Indigienous jumper because of how good it was.

I don't mind the Crows one because the jumper keeps the iconic stripes. they may consider having a version with a lot of extra red or extra yellow as an alternative strip. Obviously you'd want a dark crow still, but have a stronger red and yellow background with the stripes too. So its mainly yellow or mainly red. Or heck go for three versions of the jumper. It should never be worn with white shorts, so Crows get it right. Jumpers to avoid clashes need to be about the entire strip. If it means that you wear red shorts at home, so another team can wear their main strip, then so be it. Its all give and take. Some times you'll wear your main strip away more often as a result... which has to be a bonus. But it may mean you wear an away jumper or non preferred shorts sometimes at home. Don't fret, it will sell more merchandise around the ground anyway.

I like north's and the thing is that it keeps stripes. Which I think is vitally important. Hawks could do something similar. Dark brown and black stripes with yellow pinstripes in between. Or very dark brown and lighter brown with yellow pin stripes. It keeps the Hawks stripes and provides an alternative.

Shades of blue for the Blues. I reckon the blue is too dark. It would still clash with teams. It really needs to be an alternatve. I notice you have the CFC of the navy blue which is a nice touch. In the end you need either a white CFC or a light blue CFC on navy... one or other will appease fans. So a very light power blue to dominate the jumper more. Or another idea. Navy blue panel down the middle with a white or light blue CFC. Then on either side of the panel, you get a large light blue panel. Then have light blue at the back with navy numbers. You then go for light blue shorts or navy. That would be an alternative yet still have a white CFC on navy. In an ideal world the team they play (if Essendon or Melbourne or Saints) would wear red shorts further making it less of a clash. AFL clubs need to give and take... and they'll find they end up playing in their preferred strip more and less in white jumpers that are nothing about the team. E.g MFC HFC AFC etc.

the Dockers need to get back to the lighter purple and the green and red. The fans just love the merchandise in the multi colours. What's with Port and Freo getting rid of teal and green and red... increasingly both are going for greys and blacks respectively, which is really poor marketability.

@@kyalking1313 When they wear the retro jumpers they go for a far darker shade of purple and green. So it doesn't capture how bright it was. I reckon Freo's white jumper with white shorts is appalling.

@@kyalking1313 Freo just didn't quite get the anchor right. But even then they could keep the chevrons but have them green and red or those colours between white chevrons. The tartan scarf in red green and purple still looks great 25 years on. Freo had a great logo too. Now its an FD basically. Its really dumb. And annoying when you see the merchandise in black and grey now. They even basically wore black in gatherround. they've lost their way.

@@kyalking1313 I reckon Essendon need to look at what Perth used to wear in the 1970s. They had a wider sash and red collar and trimmings. And wore all red socks. I suggest Essendon could even go a bit wider with the sash. Only for some clashes. That ways they just look a bit more like their traditional strip and don't have to wear their red alternative strip as much. I'm not suggesting the mega wide sash, but just if a bit wider it would provide a bit of an alternative and avoid a clash, especially if red trimmings. Maybe even red shorts if playing a Saint Kilda or Collingwood for example.

How about consider a video that talks about appropriate nicknames for teams based on where the teams are based and the history of the area and team. For example... Brisbane Bananas, Gold coast towers, West Coast Surfies (AFLW Surfie chicks), Sydney Bridges Great Western Sydney Sprawl, Footscray Bogans, Collingwood Slums, Carlton Cappuccinos,.. St Kilda Ladies of the Night (take on Lady of St Kilda Schooner)... Richmond Never say Dyers, Essendon Jets, Melbourne (born to be) Rulers, Geelong College boys, Port Adelaide Port, Adelaide Croweaters, Fremantle Dockers/Wharfies, North Melb Nomads. What do you reckon?

With all the wars occurring I find it unlikely that Essendon will want a fighter jet anymore. That's their likely view not mine! Still you never put stripes on Essendon (faux paus). The logo looks old fashioned and more of a fighter jet. If a clash needs a lot more red. Essendon is supposed to changing their logo anyway. Here's an idea. A huge water bomber across the jumper. Ath the bottom you have red flames leaping up with the bomber dropping H2O. Red shorts cap it off. A certain winner surely. But Essendon should always keep the sash, but should be able to play around with a marginally wider sash (not the tacky mega sash they had). Red trimmings on sleeve and collar. You'd find with that extra bit of red (even red shorts), it would mean that they could wear their traditional jumper far more often. Lets face it black with a wider red sash and red trimmings and shorts, is very close to Essendon's trditional jumper and should be kept as a serious alternative against Coll, Richmond, Saints, Carlton etc...

Give them tiger stripes might work for AFLW or the female cheer leader dancers. The Claremont Tigrettes used to be lady dancers for Claremont Tigers in the 1980s. They wore tiger stripes and looked great. But as I said they were dancers on the field not foothallers. Look up Tigrettes. In the past a lot of the clubs had girls cheer the players on. Also put on a dance performance at half time. Good old days eh. Tigerettes had two alterntives. Navy with yellow stripes. Or classic tiger stripes leotards and stockings etc... you get the picture?

Here is an idea for your channel. I'm interested in the compromises that clubs can make so that they would both wear traditional strips ( or strips very close to traditional strips in a grand final). For e.g. Coll vs Melb in a GF. Collingwood are allowed to wear black shorts. So for Melb to wear white or navy causes more of a clash. So should they wear red? Ess vs Rich. Does one of the club wear a far wider sash with collar and sleeves in red or yellow. Then wear coloured shorts. Does that provide enough of a contrast so that Rich and Ess can wear traditional strip. (also you could even get one side wearing a wider sash than normal and the other a narrower sash)... Melb vs Carl. How can we guarantee that both wear home strips??? Do Carlton wear white shorts with a white back (or numbers patch?). Or do Melbourne wear a bigger and lower yolk and wear red shorts. You really would want Melb vs Carl to be in traditional colours if at all possible... and so on...

Hawks has to be stripes for me. Need to go for all dark brown with thin yellow pinstripes. Or a design like North, where Matt had panels of different shades of blue (or brown) and thin white (or yellow) pinstripes. Saints was good. I'd like to see it mainly red and as the alternative. I think the Eagles have to keep the wings after they trialled the panels. All part of wearing something they could wear with white shorts plus gear they thought their fans would wear around the shops and not just at games. they should stick with royal blue really. even if navy comes into fashion again. Royal blue and yellow is such a sensational combination. I'd be interested if they could play around with a darker yellow for an alternative strip. Could they wear Wallabies yellow/orange (a la rugby team) and then blue wings. Shorts would be blue or ochre instead of white. I like the yellow jumper but they always wear it with white shorts and that looks shocking.

Hawks is an old fashioned logo on your design. They need to have stripes or bust. Hawthorn is stripes. As an alternative they should wear brown panels 10cm wide with 0.5cm yellow pin stripes. Then brown shorts. Its an alternative to yellow and most importantly its stripes. They can mix up white and yellow pinstripes if need be. Also really make the brown far darker. Fans just don't buy brown merchandise much, but if Hawks wear the darker brown kit away, it may catch on. Polos in a very dark navy toned brown will look good. Almost black but not quite. At home the Hawks must always be all yellow at the back, like the Dermie days. Hawks should never wear white shorts with a yellow jumper. Never.

Check what Matt has done with the North jumper. Same concept with Hawks, except its very dark brown panels with yellow pinstripes. Hawks could even alternate very dark brown with mid brown with yellow pinstripes. Or even alternative black panels... It works for North well and would work for Hawks. Remember Hawks must keep stripes. Brown and yellow are ordinary colours. But with stripes and it looks a million dollars.

Black and iced teal look great for Port. But for me they need either stripes or lightening bolts. They are trying their hardest to lose teal and lose the name Power. The club only ever talks about Port now. Its as if they are the Port Adelaide Ports now (being Adelaide maybe its Port wines). But Power is such a sensational name for a club that wasn't allowed to be magpies. Either Port Power or Port Dockers were always going to be classic names. Its trendy and "atmospheric" without being a useless name like "Spirit" or something. Port is a powerful club. So it beggars belief really. They will want prison bar stripes, but will have to compromise. Also lightning and teal were worn when they won a flag. It worked for them and the kids loved the colours and got on board. It is a marketplace they're in.

Melbourne's jumper is fine. But they can't move away from their iconic jumper, which is probably the best in the AFL behind Eagles. So certainly as an away jumper they could wear red with a blue M. Then wear red shorts. Would MFC be happy to wear it as a clash jumper in a grand final? Melbourne need to update their logo and they have a fixation against Demons name and logo now. I assume fans are superstitious about Demons and that is the reason. But they really need to do their research to see if that actually is the case. Currently they don't have the "Melbourne" name working for them as much as it should. And they've turned their backs on horns and pitchforks.

Docker disaster. Get rid of the Docker white jumper. Some how get green and red back into it. Also the dark purple is far too dark. This is a jumper that would look ok in purple shorts. But they'd end up wearing it white shorts.

Collingwood one is pretty ordinary. Dont touch essendon's jumper. Geelong is too plain, needs the white to contrast it. Sydney's looks a bit cringe. West coast's is pretty plain The rest are really good!!! Gold coast suits well, as does tigers and port. North is also really good.

With the bomber logo it looks great without. The issue is the dons has to have a red sash on there jersey it’s written in there constitution or something like that Idk all the details and I didn’t actually know that until recently I reckon it should be scrapped for away games because it’s stupid you should simply be able to inverse your colours and be done with it!

West Perth Foothall Club has a red jumper with blue sash and blue shorts and its always been one of the best WAFL jumpers. they've even wore red shorts and its looked good because the jumper is red with blue sash. So red with black sash is guaranteed to look great. Red shorts surely is a must instead of white. I guess they could go for two black sashes with a red bit between the two black sashes... then you end up having a red sash and it obeys the constitution.

Nah the Brissy one with the V is a shocker. The yellow one is a compromise. yellow at bottom with yellow lion isn't perfect. Do you go for yellow shorts too? I don't see the point of eliminating blue from the jumper but keeping maroon and yellow so much. With the maroon at the front it would still clash with the Suns Swans Giants of this world. Or do your reverse the yellow to top and go for yellow shorts?

Robodog or Robdog is too big on the jumper. Also you can't have it virtually identical to Melbourne with the red yolk. It aint gonna happen. Can you imagine Melb slamming Bulldogs and refusing it. No. MFC doesn't operate like Eddie McGuire and Collingwood. More class. Still Bulldogs need a jumper with more red and maybe the stripes and Robodog in the middle. Then blue or red shorts. Also if there is a clash that the bulldogs have they could go for red, white or a lighter blue jumper. Food for thought.

Suns need to get rid of the GC logo. That's poor. Then decide whether they want a massive sun in the middle, or sunrays or a giant wave. I favour the sun probably. Could consider a giant sun. Not sure what you'd put in the middle. They should utilise mainly red, with a yellow and maybe a touch of orange. Then consider white or yellow alternatives. For me they need to lose the colour blue. Do they go for sea green instead? or aqua? prob not. Grey is a poor alternative as is black. What conservative colour can the fans wear apart from white? If a darker red, it looks too much like maroon. But blue just doesn't look like the suns.
