Mrs. Apple in Aus there were sewing needles in strawberries and other fruits for a while, mainly strawberries though, some people had them lodged in the mouths etc, was pretty bad, they assumed a lot of people planted them themselves after a while 🤢

Honestly though, I used to do a bit of work on a strawberry farm. I think the reason the workers put needles in the strawberries was because of the awful conditions and extremely low pay everyone received. I did a full 9 hours of work and got $17 for a day. I didn't stay there very long, because I'm an Australian citizen and I didn't want to deal with that stuff, but it feels bad for the people on working holiday visas here who are just working there to be able to get their second visa. If the workers want to take it up with fairwork or anything like that, the farms threaten to not sponsor their second year visa, so it leaves a lot of the workers in a really bad situation.
