I pretty much agree with all of it. Especially Dragonborn. Very high up in my heart, but man do they do absolutely ZERO justice to the racial abilities. There's so many in traditional DnD that are just outright missing, and the breath weapon is literally useless due to non existent scaling, unless you're using it to trigger environmental effects, which could probably be more easily triggered by anything else anyway. I straight up downloaded mods that basically gave every race their true racial bonuses, and turned off the once per long rest limit of dragonborn breath weapons, and made it not use up an action.
@Senok1328 күн бұрын
One small advise about having more dialoge options: If you have the Disguise Self spell, you can get the dialoge options of the race you choose as well. If you later talk to the same person, but without any disguise - or even with a different one on -, they recognise you without a problem though, so it only effect the initial meeting...
@Senok1328 күн бұрын
@@Kieva_Storm Even the true racial bonus made it as once per a short-, or long rest, and still was an action. The damage would be scaling with your Constitution and get other increasements with your Character Level.

@@DoffyDogg I kind of feel like a hypocrite. I feel no guilt for using exploits as they are essentially "part of the base game." Especially for the exploits that survived the Honor Mode culling. As for mods though I am completely opposed as you essentially create new exploits not originally within and it becomes too easy. The fun for me is mastering the exploits already there and tailoring them to break the game that way. Granted, the Dragonborn having better racial features wouldn't necessarily break the game as both are already a part of the original. Its just being able to enjoy the best of both worlds, having an awesome looking character while also enjoying cool racial features. I feel like the half-elf racial features are a good baseline though, not OP of itself but versatile. I'd personally opt to give them the Duergar or Half-Orc features to gain access to some of the best.

It probably gives no indication because she was meant to only be recruitable for evil runs. I adore the fact that golden dwarf barbarian is arguably the best tank in the game. Race HP, class HP, bear subclass that halves the damage, straight up chonky lad. But what makes it the best party tank, is because you don't need high AC. If your AC too high, enemy wouldn't target you that much, leaving more squishy characters voulnarable. You just run into the fray with 30ac, use flares to deflect what attacks might crit you, nerf the enemies to oblivion with radiant damage (-1 all physical saves per reverberation stack) and blast them off the grid with dex or con save spells such as glyph of sleep or plain old fireball. I try so hard to play one of the lesser races, but every time I play as a non-dark gnome, I just... can't. Failing every saving throw, being blind in the dark, not being able to fit into half the doorways in the game, stumbling around wishing I could use stealth, it just breaks the game for me. Also, the pure joy of playing a melee combat character and absolutely wrecking guys twice my size is just hilarious. Dark gnome monk is simply a game changer for me. I do admit, however, some of the cute bigger races are fun to look at.

Not gonna lie; I always love Dragonborn; sure they aren't the best game-wise But the special dialogue, cosmetics, and sometimes pairing them with powerful build set-ups are amazing Like my Silver Female Dragonborn; Yuki Mourne-Scales: level 1 cleric of bahamut/level 11 draconic ancestry (white) sorcerer Utilizing the power of Frost, Lightning and sometimes Thunder; plus it's interesting in romance scenes 😉 (I paired her with Gale obviously)

One of my favorite moments in Act 1 was when my drow character got to the entrance of the goblin encampment and started vibing on the war drums…which then summoned a slavering squad of goblins. The sheer look of “Oh shit!” on her face followed by a nearby goblin very trepidatiously asking her to please not do that again while he smoothed things over was priceless! 😂

Gnomes actually make weirdly good barbarians mechanically because gnome cunning helps with the number one weakness barbarians have: weak mental saves. Dark gnomes are also one of the mechanically strongest races along with halflings and githyanki. But yeah if you dont like gnomes its hard to enjoy playing one

The diologue options between Gith and Bard alone were a riot and even though at first I tried to cover his skinny body up as much as possible- by the end of the game I was so attached to my skinny legend that I just had to give him orins armor (in black)! I made a halfling warlock/bard and I decided that his lore was that he made a deal with his patron to become the best musician in all the realms, and after escaping the nautiloid, he needs to put the band back together. The band is named Metallurgy. The contrast of a heavy metal appearance on a polite little halfling is gold.

I don't about the other races, but I agree that Drow are in a completely different class of their own. Creators expected many people will play Drow, thanks to a Mr. Salvatore. Likely also the reason why none of the origin companions are Drow, as they were earmarked for player-made protagonist.

My most iconic character was Pixie, a halfling Dark Urge rogue assassin fighter champion. She was impossible to find, holds the record in my group for strongest single attack, and was the most evil and terrifying member of the party. Ontop of all that, i loved the idea of a the smallest member of the party transforming into the most terrifying behemoth. Highly reccomend the build, being able to slip away from ambushes, start ambushes, and transforming when shit hits the fan is such a crazy level of versatility.

Elf is a good race for monks as you get longsword and Longbow proficiencies, and wood elf boost the movement range of a monk if you choose not to wear armor. If you want armor better to go Githyanki but you lack the ability to use most bows. But the cantrip going off intelligence makes it hard to balance the stats so it's actually effective. Sometimes better to select a cantrip like friends so it isn't a factor. But sometimes it's good to have firebolt.

i like the short races because it's funny playing a bloodthirsty gnome or a megalomaniacal halfling. i just wish becoming a mindflayer worked more like canon dnd. i wanted to play a gnome ceramorph so so badly. they could've even made it more inclusive to other shorties, since dwarves and halflings and the like aren't supposed to be ceramorphable.

I remember from my cancelled DnD campaign that our DM joked how I'm not gonna get darkvision unlike our half elf and rock gnome. But it was fun to tower over everything and scream at people at throw the dice 😂. In BG3 I play as a Dragonborn for roleplaying purposes but I'm considering modding the game just to make my dragonborns more beefy and stronk.

An elf walked into a bar only to be accosted by several drunkards. Mostly making fun of them and calling them twinkle fingers and such. With a smile they just roundhouse kick the first guy and throw the second onto the floor. Walk over to the bar and sit down asking for something strong. Bartender:... sure thing. Plus some extra for the show.

The Underdark really elevates this game; not only is it my favourite looking area, but it has the best variants of the three (and a half) ancestries that live there. Drow, Duergar and Svirfneblin are all excellent, with Half-Drow only losing out because they don't get the Drow conversation prompts. My first playthrough was a Dark Urge Svirfneblin Oathbreaker (back when DU was next to Tav in creation) and it was great, I'd put them way above humans.

First of all thanks for the video. Secondly after having completed more BG3 runs than I should have while still being only moderately competent at best, I've gotta say that I tried Honour Mode with two "meta builds" as half-elfs and was bored out of my mind. Didn't like what I saw and made lots of mistakes. My first successful HM was with a buff female tiefling, my "all bosses"-HM was with a female shield dwarf (bard) and I'm currently slashing my way through another HM with Patch 7 as a female half orc with two hand crossbows and I love it. Therefore my rating based solely on fun and loooks, because there are many proper rankings out there and nobody will read this comment: 1. Female Half Orcs 2. Buff Tieflings 3. Drow 4. Duergar and the other Dwarves 5. Halfling 6. Githyanki 7. Gnome 8. Half-Elf 9. Elf 11. Humans and Dragonborn Once did a run as Dragonborn Paladin with a salami as a weapon. I can't stand the race, even though I want to like it.

Perhaps the reason hands are so big in this game is so things look less weird in the isometric perspective? Sometimes breaking things to make them look better in a certain way is better than leaving it completely normal. Like the statue of david being made for the perspective of being displayed high above the viewers.

If you're going to be a Gith, just play as Origin Laezel. Even though her entire story should theoretically be copy/pastable onto a Githyanki Tav, almost all of the special stuff with Voss and Vlaakith is reserved for Laezel alone. Ironically, in my Gith Tav playthrough, it was like Laezel and I were going through exactly the same thing, but i made all the decisions while she got all the spotlight. Just be Laezel.
