Chang'e is indeed the name of the Goddess of the Moon in actual Chinese mythology; but, in this fantasy alternative storyverse, Chang'e is just a title for the handmaidens of the Goddess of the Moon. In the post-chapter animation, Bajie bumped into *a* Chang'e while chasing after the Moon Goddess, and this Chang'e instantly fell for him (Zhu Bajie was a handsome and dashing Celestial General in those days). After he was banished to the mortal world, the Chang'e cast herself into the mortal world to follow him. As part of his punishment, Bajie was cursed to have 100 lives that will feature heartbreaking tragic love every time -- hence the montage of the pig/man and woman/spider, in various combinations indicating countless past lives they both lived through, each time meeting and loving and ending in tragedy, until finally Bajie had enough and wants to avoid the Purple Spider (the Chang'e's current incarnation), and all her future incarnations, to save themselves from further pain. All this romantic stuff does NOT align with the Doaist-Buddhist themes of the original novel, LOL, but hey, people writing fan fic like this stuff and now it's part of the overall storyverse.

Original white robe is indeed Black Bear's companion in JTTW. I mention that the one fought by the Destined One is a secret sworn brother of Erlang Shen (though I'm unsure if they are the SAME scholar, i.e. getting resurrected like Lingxuzi and would love your input)

@@TheLorebrarians They are not the same scholar. The original White Scholar was immediately killed during JTTW. The one we fought in BMW is Erlang's sworn brothers (six of them) from Plum Hill (Mei Shan, which is also the hill you fought Erlang Shen). In the Chinese dub of the game the new 'Scholar' stated quite clearly that he was sent by his 'big brother' (Erlang) to test the Destined one. The only one that was resurrected in this area was Lingxuzi who immediately choose to off himself because he didn't agree with the morality of it. Wandering Wight was a failed revive on Jinchi by Black Bear while the Yaoguai Jinchi in the secret area was the lingering will (probably resentment is a better word) of the previous Elder Jinchi turned Yaoguai.

Idk if its supposed to mean what i thought it did but the part with bajie and VS looking at eachother and she goes from a woman to a spider well he goes from a pig to a man I know its the lifes of heart break they have had before but it also looks like its showing you how bajie used to be the bad pig form he was and became more good and human meanwhile she was good and human and became more bad and like a spider. If not does anyone know why the scene happens like that with them changing but in opposte directions

@@ChengHooSew He was slain by 100 eyes but that was due to yellowbrow. They had a alliance after defeating WuKong. And once yellowbrow captured dawnstar, he was brought to 100 eyes since 100 eyes had beef with him and got the needle. Not sure about the buddha hands since its not stated what happened to Pilanpo. The bug in my eyes was just a bug that had a tail that looked like a hand.

The Loong bros weren’t the sons of a dragon king. They are split from the dragon that’s stored in Lingji’s Golden Loong Staff. You can see this in the Chapter 2 end painting.

The Loong princes are four of the nine sons born to Dragon King of Jing river who was beheaded for disobeying celestial decree to win a bet against Yuan. They feared the same fate, so hid from Celestial Court. This is in BMW lore entries and also taken from a tale in Journey to the West

@@TheLorebrarians It's a bit complicated in terms of the Chinese lore but the strong theory is that the 4 Loong we fought in the game were actually not the original Dragon King's children but the Golden Loong Staff split into 4 parts. The Golden Loong saw the mortal realm and grew attached to it, however it was impossible for the Golden Loong to live on the mortal realm without the Bodhisattva or Celestial Court knowing. Splitting the staff into 4 parts allows them to replace and live their individual life. (think of it as living under false IDs) The reason was that despite doing the good deeds and serving the Celestial Court (by helping the traveling monks) during the JTTW, the 4 of them were never awarded any deeds after the scriptures were secured by any pantheon, which signifies that the Celestial Court saw through their deception and knows who they really are. This causes them to freak out and not wanting to be subdued, they seek Yuan Shoucheng (gourd guy) who tells them to hide, hence their status during BMW. When you approach their area, the poem that booms out also alludes to their 'real identity', For what deed, must his head be hung for all to see? For what deed, must the waters they governed roam free? For what deed, must all matters not know how to be? For what deed, must mercy's hand sow woe upon thee? The last 3 sentences are basically them calling out to be left alone so they could live a quiet life but both pantheons have pre-determined plans for them, that they are to test the Destined One and become his weapon (ie. come back to senses and remove thyself from the mortal desires), whether they like it or not. After all, if the Celestial Court plans to target the entire Loong family for their father's deception, why are the rest chilling and not freaking out except these 4? So the 4 original loongs thy replaced are still out there, at least in BMW.
