if anyone's short on cash, on a sunbeam was originally released as a webcomic, so you can read the entire thing online for free (legally!)!!

In the theme of keeping it mostly gay, I recommend Everyone in This Room Will Someday Be Dead. It’s my favorite book so far this year, and I wish I saw more Booktubers checking it out!

it's on my tbr for this month. i don't like researching about books before I read them, but it's there any trigger warnings I should know about?
@lynnelz22 жыл бұрын
@@izziedias A couple characters deal with depression and anxiety, and suicide/thoughts of suicide is mentioned. The overall tone of the book stays relatively light (in my opinion), but those are prominent topics.

Yet *more* books to add to my TBR list! I can't thank you enough for reawakening my love for reading, Ally. When the world is as chaotic as it is right now, cozying up with a good book is the best (healthy) escape ... even when you're reading a nail-biting thriller.

Can I just say that the music you have in your videos is spectacular! I love those games, and it’s so nice to hear their music. My favorite book of May was the manga Tomie by Junji Ito. The mc is relatable in all the wrong ways for an unhinged woman like me, and it was overall a great read.

I have LOVED everything I’ve read by Emily Henry so far, but I am currently in the middle of Book Lovers and I feel like it is taking me for.ever. to get through so I definitely relate with you on that one 😅. I couldn’t put Beach Read down though! And it seemed to go by quicker/easier than Book Lovers is-

I absolutely loved beach read when I read it two years ago, it was the first romance that I actually enjoyed and I was not just like well that was kinda fun but pretty much a waste of time. So far I’ve been disappointed with her other novels, in my opinion people we meet on vacation and book lovers are not anywhere near as good as beach read. So pls read beach read :)

Okay so I just read Sorrow & Bliss by Meg Mason. & if you’re looking for another raw and real character study I would say give that one a read. Again plot wise things don’t happen a ton but I got so invested in these characters and saw flaws of my own in them. Such a beautiful but heartbreaking read ( also was funny at times) ✨✨

Ok I’m gonna TRY to do this in a way that makes the most sense and is the least self indulgent: 1. I totally understand your criticism of She Who Became the Sun. I believe the advertising of it (by third-party individuals)leans way too heavily on sapphic elements, and really overshadows so much trans subtext that I saw and was affected by. I think going into this book with an expectation of an epic sapphic romance is not going to get met, unfortunately. 2. The piece that I don’t like is when many readers/writers critique SWBTS for its narrative structure, when that structure is modeled after many traditional and modern ways of Asian storytelling. I am not saying that you were coming for that throat per se, but I wanted to put my thoughts somewhere because I think that this book is very complex and nuanced. Thank you for your review and YES please god get Hoover off YA shelves.
