I call it the “stupid end” and the bit where you take the reading is the “business end”. When I ask my mate to get a tape and hold the end for me and he asks which end I can tell him “you hold the stupid end I hold the business end” 👌👌

I've had a magnet in my tool bag for years, I have attached mine to some string line Coz I'm always dropping things down the cavity my trowel most of the time lol and a lot of builds I do the cavity is massive 150mm so things tend to fall 😂 saves cutting a block out at the bottom, another great vid mate 👍

firstly, thank you for all of your very helpful videos! I'm about to build a garage and without your informative videos i would be a bit lost. not to be a health and saftey nanny, just watch that your magnet doesn't chip in to sharp fragments that can get stuck in places you'd rather they weren't. neodymium magnets are brittle and can break up when they hit things from being pulled against them... ask me how i know. also, ferrofluids can be cool to play with!
@RodianBuilds4 жыл бұрын
Glad you are finding the videos useful. I didnt know the magnets were that brittle, maybe I've been lucky and had a good one. Lasted me a long time. Hope the garage build goes well 🤙🏼🧱

@@RodianBuilds hang on to it, its obviously a gooden! can i ask, if you dont mind, what you would recommend to tie piers to a half brick thick wall? i would like to build my garage in stretcher bond (105mm thick/half brick) and not bond piers in (so the headers arent visible outside). approved doc A and a good amount of googling has shed no light on 1. if 100mm wall ties are available and 2. if wall ties would be appropriate to tie in piers. thanks in advance for any thoughts you may have.
